Former President Jimmy Carter’s health

Former president Jimmy Carter is going to start getting care in a hospice.

Following “a succession of short hospital admissions,” the Carter Center revealed in a statement released on Saturday that the former president of the United States, who is now 98 years old, will be transferred to hospice care.

According to the statement, “Former President of the United States Jimmy Carter decided today to forego any further medical treatment in order to spend his remaining time at home with his family and to accept hospice care.” He has the unwavering support of both his family and the people caring for him.

“The Carter family asks for privacy during this time and is grateful for the compassion expressed by his many admirers,” the statement’s conclusion said. “The Carter family was very close to President Carter and will miss him deeply.”

The news on President Carter’s health comes after he broke a record in October by becoming the longest-living president in the history of the United States.

Since President George H.W. Bush passed away in November 2018 at the age of 94, he has been the incumbent of this position since March 2019, when he was sworn into office.

Since it was established in 1982 by President Carter and Rosalynn Carter, the Carter Center has been contributing to a wide variety of different humanitarian activities over the course of the past four decades.

It’s true that President Carter was only in office for four years, but in the four decades that have passed since then, he’s been able to use his place in history to benefit people not only in the United States but also in other countries.

The unusually long post-White House life of President Carter — 41 years and counting, outlasting Herbert Hoover’s next-longest post-presidency timespan by a decade — has allowed him time to author 30 books, the most recent of which was published when he was 93, and get back to the no-frills American lifestyle that he and Rosalynn have always appreciated. In addition, President Carter has been able to get back to the no-frills American lifestyle

The Carters volunteered for Habitat for Humanity for one week each year up until the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in the year 2020. In addition, President Carter spent a good portion of those years serving as a Sunday school teacher in Plains, Georgia, his hometown. Plains is a relatively small rural community in Georgia with a population in the hundreds.
