In a recent discussion on air, White House correspondent Peter Doocy took a moment to address some internal criticism and provide his opinion on President Biden’s mental health situation. He was stepping in as a co-host and didn’t hold back when discussing how some media colleagues have, according to him, ignored or glossed over significant concerns regarding Biden’s mental faculties, which have reportedly been waning even before his 2020 election.
This conversation sparked after a revealing article from the Wall Street Journal, which sourced over 50 individuals, asserted that not only has Biden’s mental sharpness been questionable since before his presidency, but also that there has been a considerable effort from staff and associates to conceal the severity of his condition throughout his presidency.
The findings from the report, highlighted by Mediaite, included statements from several Democratic insiders—political aides, lawmakers, and benefactors—who have long been worried about Biden’s cognitive capabilities and aging. Apparently, strict measures were imposed regarding who could interact with Biden, what they could discuss, and the sources of information he was allowed to access.
One of the most striking claims from the report was that meetings were often called off on days when Biden was perceived to be struggling, and direct conversations with him were significantly limited.
Doocy, expressing strong disbelief at these revelations, described what he perceives as President Biden’s incapacity to effectively govern as potentially “the biggest cover-up in Washington, D.C., since Watergate.” He highlighted the lack of curiosity in the media about these disclosures as baffling.
“We’ve got a significant story closely tied to what’s happening in the White House press briefing room. Yesterday, there weren’t any questions posed about this significant Wall Street Journal article that involved 50 sources saying it’s possibly the most substantial cover-up in Washington since Watergate,” Doocy remarked during Saturday’s segment.
Doocy explained further, “The story amounted to 18 pages when printed, but to occur, there were staff members, unelected in the White House, aware during the last presidential campaign and transition that President Biden’s cognitive abilities might be declining. They actively chose to hide this from the American people.”
He added, “The implications on decision-making are still uncertain, but this is a monumental story, and somehow, there’s a lack of curiosity. Our colleague, Jacqui Heinrich, was in the briefing room. However, she was overlooked for questioning. And there are sources indicating these observations were on her query list.”
Adding to this, another cycle of critique surrounds Biden, focused on his actions regarding federal death sentences. Biden is facing backlash for commuting almost all the death sentences of the 40 federal inmates awaiting execution, actions that would prevent their execution even if President-elect Trump had taken office.
A commentator, Joey Mannarino, shared his strong opinions on a social media platform by stating, “Joe Biden just commuted the sentence of an individual who orchestrated the brutal murder of a 12-year-old girl and her mother. He shot the girl four times in the head, near decapitated her, and discarded her body in a remote area,” following up with a harsh descriptor for Biden.
Out of 40 inmates on federal death row, the President has adjusted the sentences of 37 men, leading to life without the chance for parole, as reported by DeathPenaltyInfo.org.
The three individuals omitted from this action include Robert Bowers, responsible for the 2018 synagogue shooting that resulted in 11 deaths; Dylann Roof, a White supremacist convicted of murdering nine African American churchgoers in Charleston in 2015; and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, perpetrator of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing that caused multiple casualties and injuries.
The men whose sentences Biden has commuted have been convicted of heinous crimes, including the murder of one or more persons. The victims of these 37 men include law enforcement officials, children, and fellow inmates, as noted by Fox News.
