Sad Gene Simmons News
Legendary rock band KISS aficionados received some disheartening news during a recent performance in Brazil. Gene Simmons, the iconic vocalist and bass player, experienced health problems that raised concerns among fans. Videos captured the situation, shedding light on the challenges Simmons faced.
KISS, a band that made their mark in the 1970s, showcased their enduring talent in Manaus, Brazil on April 12, 2023. However, Simmons’ age of 71 made it challenging for him to keep up with the rest of the band on stage.
A video of the concert, posted by ACritica on Twitter, captured the moment Simmons encountered difficulties while performing. The crowd observed this, prompting singer and guitarist Paul Stanley to momentarily halt the concert and address the situation.
In a pause, Stanley spoke to the crowd, saying, “Hold on, hold on.” He further expressed, “We know how much you love Gene, and he’s obviously sick. We’re going to have to take a break to take care of him, because we love him, right? Let’s give Gene a really loud ‘Gene!’ One, two, three – Gene!”
Following Stanley’s request, the crowd enthusiastically chanted “Gene.”
Simmons later returned to the stage, displaying his dedication to the performance. However, due to his health condition, he performed the rest of the concert seated in a chair.
The incident raises questions about the future of KISS and their ongoing farewell tour titled the “End of the Road Tour.” The band is scheduled to hold their final concerts at Madison Square Garden in New York City on December 1st and 2nd, 2023.
Simmons discussed the concept of retirement in a Chaoszine interview in July 2022. When asked about the possibility of retiring, he responded, “We don’t know. We’ve never retired before. This is our first time. It’s like painting a painting or writing a book. When somebody says, ‘When is it gonna be finished?’ You’re in the middle of it; you don’t know.”
Considering Simmons’ health situation at the recent concert, it remains uncertain whether KISS will continue to perform. Fans worldwide anxiously await updates regarding Simmons’ condition and the band’s future.
