Giuffre Family Stands Firm After Trump’s Remarks on Epstein Incident

The family of Virginia Giuffre has expressed their astonishment and disbelief over former President Donald Trump’s recent remarks. Trump suggested he was aware Giuffre had been “taken” from his Mar-a-Lago resort during her teenage years.

In light of these comments, the family voiced a strong plea, urging Trump not to offer any form of pardon to Ghislaine Maxwell, a known accomplice to Jeffrey Epstein, now convicted of sex trafficking.

Virginia Giuffre was a prominent advocate for survivors of sexual abuse before her tragic passing in April. Her family’s statement came after Trump’s conversation with reporters, where he claimed Epstein “stole” Giuffre from Mar-a-Lago in 2000 when she was just 16 and working as a locker room assistant.

“To hear former President Trump mention our sister in such a manner was shocking,” the family declared. They raised concerns about Trumpโ€™s knowledge of Epstein and Maxwell’s misconduct, especially considering Trump’s own past comments referring to Epstein’s interest in “younger women.” The Giuffre family, along with the public, seeks clarity and justice for survivors.

Trump has made it known that he believes he has the authority to pardon Maxwell, according to NBC News. Maxwell, convicted in 2021 for trafficking minors, received a 20-year sentence. She was a close aide to Epstein, who died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on severe trafficking accusations.

The controversy further deepens with Maxwell’s meeting with Todd Blanche, U.S. Deputy Attorney General, who was once Trump’s personal lawyer. This is part of an ongoing Justice Department probe into Epsteinโ€™s circle.

In their statement, Giuffre’s family clearly countered the notion of leniency for Maxwell. They pinpointed Maxwell’s role in targeting Virginia at Mar-a-Lago in 2000, a few years before Epstein and Trump parted ways, reinforcing this to be known via sources such as BBC News.

“Our government and its leaders should never entertain granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell,” they affirmed.

Ghislaine Maxwell engaged 17-year-old Virginia Giuffre at Mar-a-Lago and channeled her into Epsteinโ€™s trafficking ring. Virginia has consistently voiced her wish for Maxwell to remain imprisoned indefinitely.

Virginia was a leading figure exposing Epsteinโ€™s trafficking network, bringing lawsuits against numerous influential individuals implicated in the scandal. One such lawsuit involved Britain’s Prince Andrew, whom she accused of abuse. Andrew settled the case without acknowledging guilt.

The family wishes to preserve Virginia’s legacy, emphasizing that it must not be tarnished by any political agendas or misplaced compassion towards those who wronged her.
