Grief-stricken Rod Stewart

The music community is lamenting the passing of The Yardbirds guitarist Jeff Beck.

The musician’s family revealed in a statement on Wednesday that he had passed away the day before from bacterial meningitis. He was 78.

The statement from his family read, “On behalf of his family, it is with deep and profound regret that we relay the news of Jeff Beck’s Passing.” “He unexpectedly developed bacterial meningitis, and yesterday he peacefully went away. His family requests discretion as they mourn this tragic loss.”

Many of Beck’s old friends and colleagues paid tribute to him after hearing the news of his passing, including his former bandmate Jimmy Page from the Yardbirds. In 1965, he joined Page in the English rock group, taking Eric Clapton’s place as the guitarist.

“We can no longer marvel at the enchantment the six-stringed Warrior could conjure around our finite feelings because he is no longer among us. Jeff was able to access ethereal music. His method is distinctive. His creativity seems to know no bounds. Jeff Together with your countless admirers, I will miss you. Peace be with you, Jeff Beck “In an Instagram post, Page.

A year after joining The Yardbirds, Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood helped Beck start his own band, The Jeff Beck Group. Truth and Beck-Ola are two of the albums they jointly released.

Stewart, who was 78 the day Beck passed away, remarked on Instagram that the adored artist “was on another world.”

He wrote, “He moved me and Ronnie Wood to the USA in his band the Jeff Beck Group in the late ’60s and we haven’t looked back since. “One of the few guitarists that would truly pay attention to me sing while performing live was him. My man, Jeff, you were the best. I appreciate everything. RIP.”

Meanwhile, Wood expressed his feelings on Twitter, saying that “one of my band of brothers has left this planet.”

He wrote, “I’m going to dearly miss him. “I express my deepest condolences to [his wife Sandra], his family, and everyone who loved him. He helped the Jeff Beck Group dominate America in our early days together, and I want to thank him for that.”

They broke “all the rules” as a band, he noted in a subsequent Tweet.

He wrote, “It was spectacular, ground-breaking rock ‘n’ roll.” “In his honor, take a listen to the great song “Plynth.” I shall always love you, Jeff. God’s grace.”
