Ben Smith-Peterson, Riley’s spouse, read Riley’s eulogy, which concluded with the words “Thank you for being my mother in this life.”

Locals learned that the two were engaged while they were building schools in the area as part of a goodwill mission and surprised them by throwing a Hindu wedding. “Because it was too chilly to shower, we hadn’t showered in a week, Keough jokingly observed, adding, “I promised to spend 7 lifetimes with you… I’m not sure about it; we’ll see how this one turns out.”
