Jamie Foxx speaks out after he’s hospitalized again following birthday altercation

After reports revealed that actor and music mogul Jamie Foxx was hospitalized following an altercation during his birthday dinner, he is speaking out.

Foxx took to Instagram on Dec. 15 to share a few words with his fans.

“The devil is a lie. Can’t win here… thank you to everybody that pray and check on me… when your light is shining bright… they try to bring you darkness … but they don’t know that you’re built for it… the lights have been shining bright… and huge thank yous to everyone that have watched and been inspired by “What Had Happened Was” … number 1 on @netflix if you haven’t checked it out please go check it out it’s from my heart and my soul…”

In a statement shared with People, Foxx’s spokesperson said he required stitches as a result.

“Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth,” the spokesperson said. “He had to get stitches and is recovering. The police were called and the matter is now in law enforcement’s hands.”

The altercation comes just weeks after Foxx revealed he nearly died in 2023.

During his Netflix comedy special, “Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was…,” the actor revealed he had brain bleed that led to a stroke while in Atlanta. As a result he required emergency brain surgery.

Foxx eventually woke up on May 4, 2023 and revealed he can’t recall those 20 days.

“That’s what it was Atlanta. You finally got the story. You saved my life,” he said.

Foxx said he kept that time of his life private because he and his family weren’t ready to share until now.

“They didn’t want you to see me like that. And I didn’t want you to see me like that,” Jamie said during his special. “I want you to see me like this.”
