Kate Middleton recently underwent a cancer treatment journey after being diagnosed with an unspecified cancer last year. She shared the news of being cancer-free in September and announced that she was in remission by January. Although Kate is gradually getting back to her regular life, it isn’t the same as before. An expert has now offered insights into how the Princess of Wales is coping.

Throughout her experience, Kate has been vocal in her appreciation for the doctors and nurses who assisted her and has visited cancer patients multiple times. A notable visit occurred in early July when she spent time at Colchester Hospital in Essex. Here, she met with patients and explored a specially designed garden intended for those undergoing treatment to find peace and recuperation.
During the visit, as reported by People Magazine, Kate opened up about her post-treatment experience, expressing that it did not meet her expectations.
“You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment. Treatmentโs done, then itโs like, โI can crack on, get back to normal,โ but actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult,โ Kate Middleton explained.
Kate emphasized that the period following treatment was especially challenging, as she was no longer under constant medical supervision yet struggled to return to her previous life. She noted the importance of having someone to guide and support her through this process.
The Princess described the experience as “life-changing,” stressing that establishing a “new normal” is a time-consuming, unpredictable process, often filled with unexpected ups and downs. โBut the reality is you go through hard times,โ she added.
Kate Middleton Reflects on Life After Cancer
In recent months, Kate has attended more royal events, including appearing with her family at Trooping the Colour, though she was absent from the Royal Ascot.
The Daily Mail reported that the princess carefully selects which public engagements to attend, prioritizing her wellbeing and responsibilities. She is restoring equilibrium in her life as she resumes public duties.
A source noted that although Kate might not always be visible in public, she remains actively involved in her roles and projects, particularly those related to her lifelong commitment to early childhood initiatives.
Furthermore, there’s an understanding that Kensington Palace needs to accommodate flexibility regarding Kate’s schedule. Whether this results in a busier agenda in the future remains to be seen.
Kate Middleton balances her royal duties with raising three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Alongside managing home life, the children also pursue extracurricular interests.
Kate Middleton Experiences Fatigue, Claims Expert
Skipping the Royal Ascot this year, an event traditionally attended by the royals, Kate cited exhaustion due to post-cancer experiences, according to royal expert Neil Sean.
Despite her public absence, Kate is reportedly an instrumental force within the palace as she focuses on both her health and family responsibilities.
“Princess Catherine has been recuperating behind the scenes,” Neil Sean told Fox, mentioning her return to ballet with Princess Charlotte, nature walks, and photography as part of her recovery activities.
Sean relayed that Kate is living in the moment, avoiding unnecessary drama, and carefully choosing her public engagements, like attending the Trooping of the Colour but abstaining from the Royal Ascot.
In her free time, Kate enjoys playing the piano, a daily ritual. Her royal duties are approached at her own pace, ensuring balance in her life.
Additionally, Neil Sean commented that Kate remains engaged through virtual discussions with her charities and manages an extensive volume of correspondence worldwide. Yet, itโs the simplicity in life that has provided the most significant transformation for her.
