Kate Middleton reveals reason behind her new lighter blonde hair

Kate Middleton, the adored Princess of Wales, has made a significant change to her look. After taking some time away from the spotlight to focus on her health, she’s back and looking radiant as ever.

Recently, during the grand Royal Variety Performance in London, Kate, at 43 years old, proudly showcased her freshly styled hair, now a dazzling shade of lighter blonde with charming golden tones. Her new look has sparked quite a conversation!

Actress Su Pollard, present at the event, couldn’t help but compliment Kate on her vibrant hair color, commenting, “I like your hair, it looks a lot lighter.” Kate graciously responded, “It used to be brown, but itโ€™s gone light in the sunshine,” adding her signature friendly touch.

This light-hearted explanation spread quickly through the media, yet some remain skeptical, speculating if there might be more to the story. Rumors of wigs and hair extensions quickly circulated with the public weighing in with their opinions. However, there were plenty who found Kate’s sunshine story perfectly believable.

The change was first noticed when Kate stepped out in September at the Natural History Museum gardens alongside Prince William. Her lighter locks took fans by surprise and certainly added a fresh twist to her classic style. Interestingly enough, mere days later at the Women’s Rugby World Cup, her hair seemed to revert to a darker tone, keeping everyone guessing.

In a touching moment at the Royal Variety event, singer Jessie J, who has faced her own health challenges, shared a special conversation with Kate. Jessie J expressed empathy for Kate’s journey with a warm embrace, acknowledging the difficulty of facing such challenges, especially with so much public attention.

Earlier this year, Jessie J was diagnosed with cancer. Her surgery went well and she updated her followers that it hadnโ€™t spread. This heartfelt exchange resonated deeply with both women, celebrating their shared resilience.

Kate experienced her own challenging health journey, disclosing in March 2024 her cancer diagnosis and the accompanying treatment. By September, she joyfully declared herself cancer-free, sharing the uplifting news on social media along with her hopes to embrace the future with renewed strength and purpose.

She articulated in her message, “Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long, and I must continue to take each day as it comes.” Her steadfast spirit shines through as she looks forward to resuming her royal duties and public engagements.

After a hiatus from such events, appearing at the Royal Variety Performance marked a significant step as Kate and Prince William returned to the red carpet, their first appearance in nearly two years.

In a candid discussion about her journey, Kate spoke openly about the challenges faced even after treatment concluded. She emphasized that maintaining a “brave face” through the process was key, but acknowledged that the transition back to normalcy posed its own set of challenges.

“Youโ€™re not necessarily under the clinical team any longer, but youโ€™re not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to,” she shared, offering insight into her ongoing personal recovery.
