All eyes were on Kate Middleton as she walked side by side with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on the walkabout immediately following the Queen’s d3ath. This was the first public appearance by the ‘Fab Four’ since the Sussexes’ Oprah Winfrey interview. In his latest book, a royal author claimed that it was the “hardest thing Kate ever had to do.” Furthermore, Kate found it exceedingly difficult to maintain a united front; read on to discover why.
Prince William invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to accompany him and Kate to observe flower tributes to Queen Elizabeth II following the monarch’s death in September 2022. This was also the Fab Four’s first appearance since March 2020, when they were seen at the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey.
It was the first time Kate and Meghan were photographed together in public since Meghan claimed to Oprah that Kate made her cry over the famed bridesmaid dress, rather than the other way around.
Robert Jobson, a royal author, described the episode in his upcoming book, Catherine: Princess of Wales. He claimed that Catherine wasn’t pleased with the excursion and speculated, “The resulting images suggested they’d all slipped back into their Fab Four routine, but Catherine later admitted to a member of the Royal Family that such was the extent of ill-feeling between the couples, the walkabout had been the hardest thing she’d ever had to do.”
According to sources, Kate Middleton had a courteous discussion with her brother-in-law during Prince Philip’s funeral in 2021, after he stood down as a senior working royal. According to Jobson: “At his funeral, Catherine—exuding poise, calm and regal impregnability—took her place as one of the most senior Royal Family members, supporting the frail and grieving Queen and comforting Prince Charles.” We know Kate and Harry have a great bond, but will they be able to change things? God alone knows!
It is worth noting that Harry and Meghan left the royal world in 2020. Since their disastrous escape, the couple has generated countless bad headlines for their harsh comments on senior royal members. Furthermore, the ‘Fab Four’ have not communicated in any capacity, according to reports.
However, earlier this year, the Sussexes issued a statement wishing Kate Middleton well while she battled cancer. We sincerely hope that this feud resolves soon and sees the light of day! In the meanwhile, who are you siding with? Let us know in the comments!
