After going through a difficult and very public divorce, Hollywood legend Kevin Costner seems to have found love once more. This time, the renowned actor is reportedly in a relationship with the ex-wife of a billionaire, whom close sources reveal as being “exactly his type.”
Before the startling announcement of his separation from Christine Baumgartner earlier this year, Costner often spoke affectionately about his wife, whom he married in 2004. He praised the unique touches she added to their life, like making their home prettier and warmer, attributing these gestures to “the power of love.”
However, by May 2023, Baumgartner, who shares three children with Costner, filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. This unleashed a bitter legal battle over both finances and custody arrangements, concluding in February 2024. The settlement saw Costner agreeing to pay $63,209 per month in child support, a much-reduced sum compared to the initial $248,000 request by Baumgartner.
Costner Copes with the Split
Fox News reports that both parties have come to an agreement for “joint legal and physical custody” of their three children, Cayden, 18, Hayes, 16, and their daughter Grace, 15.
In an emotional interview with CBS Mornings, the Oscar-winning actor reflected on the split, describing it as a “crushing moment.” He remarked, “It’s powerful. It hurt.”
“But I go forward. I have no choice – my children are looking at me – so I can’t wilt like a daisy. I have to go forward, continue to be who I am, and keep a special eye on who they are,” the star of “Dances with Wolves” continued.
New Beginnings After a Dark Phase
It seems that Costner is indeed moving forward. He is reportedly in a relationship with Kelly Noonan Gores, a 46-year-old filmmaker and former spouse of billionaire Alec Gores, 72.
Though Costner has tried to keep this budding romance under wraps, their joint attendance at the JAS Labor Day Experience festival in Aspen suggests their connection is deepening. Insiders say this companionship is proving to be exactly what Costner needs during this stage of his life.
“Kevin is dating and happy again after experiencing a very dark time,” a source shared with RadarOnline.com. “He has been seeing Kelly and tries to maintain discretion because he doesn’t want anything to derail this.”
According to the insider, Costner finds Kelly to be “chill” and a perfect match after the chaotic times post-divorce.
“She embodies everything he needs right now. They share a passion for the outdoors, sports – she even enjoys surfing – and love taking long walks with dogs,” the source elaborated. “Additionally, she has young kids, which Costner finds adorable since he loves children.”

“With Kelly, she has completely fallen for his charm,” shared another insider. “He finds her very nice, incredibly attractive, and enjoys their time together immensely. Kevin is someone who could have almost any woman he wants, and right now, Kelly is the one he has his eyes on, and they are both relishing each other’s company.”

A third source confirmed to US Weekly that Costner and Noonan Gores are “spending time together casually and were introduced by mutual friends.”
“They both visit Aspen frequently and share friends,” explained this source, adding that, at this point, the relationship remains “non-committal.” They are enjoying getting to know one another when possible.
As for Baumgartner, she too is moving forward. Reports indicate that she recently accepted a marriage proposal from financier Josh Conner during a romantic beachside dinner in Santa Barbara, California.
