He was born in 1944 in Wallington, England, and became well-known in the 1960s. In 1965, he took Eric Clapton’s place as a member of The Yardbirds.

Three years later, with the help of Rod Stewart, another legendary rock musician who was relatively unknown at the time, he started his own band, the Jeff Beck Group. His musical taste, especially his guitar prowess, had a profound impact on other British rock performers, such as Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin.

Jeff Beck was from another planet, as Rod quickly acknowledged in his own sorrowful tribute to his former bandmate on Twitter. In the late 1960s, he brought Ronnie Wood and I to the USA with his band, the Jeff Beck Group, and we haven’t looked back since.

“He was one of the few guitarists who, when performing live, would truly listen to me sing and respond,” continued the Maggie May vocalist. My man, Jeff, you were the best. I appreciate everything. RIP.”

17 Watts? He is quoted as saying: “I was fascinated in the electric guitar even before I recognized the difference between electric and acoustic,” in Mo Foster’s 2000 book The Birth of British Rock Guitar. The electric guitar appeared to be a completely intriguing wooden plank with knobs and switches. I simply had to possess one.

His 2005 bride, Sandra Cash, is the only person left to care for him. There are no known details about him having kids.
