Linda Carter of EastEnders is devastated after learning terrible news.

Danny Dyer’s character on EastEnders, Mick Carter, last appeared swimming to sea to save his cherished ex-wife Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), whose vehicle had been thrown off a cliff by Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks). Linda will be shocked when the police arrive in Walford, even though she had to accept Mick’s death fast for the sake of her kids.

The Slaters’ financial situation deteriorates in the next episodes as Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) hunts for work.

But Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) and Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) won’t hire him.

When Denise Fox (Diane Parish) wanted to check on Shirley Carter (Linda Henry), Alfie gave her the keys to The Vic and later chooses to get them back.

He wants to help Linda by reopening the bar, but when Denise learns what he’s done, she is outraged.

Despite Alfie’s insistence that he is acting on behalf of Linda, the Fox matriarch is unimpressed.

Just as Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) reveals that Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) is providing free drinks, she lashes out at Alfie.

While Alfie is motivated to arrange a summer celebration, Denise orders Patrick to collect the money from everyone.

He believes the occasion will be the ideal way to boost sales and assist Linda in moving The Vic ahead.

While on the phone, Kim informs Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) that The Vic is open.

As Alfie settles in behind the bar, everything is going perfectly back at the pub.

Linda, however, enters embarrassed just as the celebration is getting started.

The landlady lashes out angrily at Alfie as Sharon takes Annie and Ollie back to her place.

Later, Alfie hopes he might convince Linda of the extent of the community’s concern for Mick in order to win her forgiveness.

To surprise his ex-wife, he collects the landlord’s friends and holds a vigil in the pub.

But when Mick’s loved ones reminisce about him, the police arrive and break up the vigil.

In the immediate aftermath of the horrible event, Linda and Shirley clung to the possibility that Mick may be alive.

Fans of EastEnders will be aware that Danny, who plays Mick, has no intention of returning to the drama, and that Christmas Day will be his final day in Walford.

Will the police give the tragic news that Mick has passed away?
