New information regarding Lisa Marie Presley’s final hours is being revealed. According to Page Six, while it was reported that Presley’s heartbeat was restored after she collapsed inside her California home, the 54-year-old mom of 4 suffered a second cardiac arrest at the hospital.
As Page Six reports, it’s alleged that Presley’s family signed a “Do Not Resuscitate” order after arriving at the hospital. Doctors had declared Presley brain dead and placed her in a medically induced coma. After suffering the second cardiac arrest, Presley was pronounced dead.
Presley was discovered by her housekeeper and her first ex-husband who still lived with Presley at the time, Daniel Keough, and performed CPR until first responders arrived.
Lisa Marie Presley, who passed away after suffering cardiac arrest on January 12th, will be buried at Graceland – the home of her late father, Elvis Presley. Lisa Marie inherited the home, which is located in Memphis, Tennessee after her father passed away in 1977 from a heart attack – he was just 42 years old.
She will be buried next to her son, Benjamin Keough, who died of suicide on July 12, 2020, and was buried at Graceland – along with Elvis and several other family members. The home has acted as a museum for more than 40 years and attracts 650,000+ visitors every year as a historic landmark.
Lisa Marie Presley has been open about her struggle with accepting her son’s death. “My beautiful beautiful angel, I worshipped the ground you walked on, on this earth and now in Heaven. My heart and soul went with you,” she wrote in one Instagram tribute following his suicide. He was her only son.
Lisa Marie Presley was living at her ex-husband’s house (Danny Keough) when she started having difficulty breathing. She suffered cardiac arrest not long after and was transported to a hospital after Keough performed CPR on her. She passed away in the hospital with her mother by her side shortly after.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers,” said Priscilla Presley.
Lisa Marie was 54 years old at the time of her death. She’s survived by her mother, Priscilla Presley, and three daughters – Riley Keough with ex-husband Danny Keough and fraternal twins (Harper Vivienne Ann Lockwood and Finley Aaron Love Lockwood) with ex-husband Michael Lockwood.
In addition to her marriages to Keough and Lockwood, Lisa Marie was married to Michael Jackson between 1994 and 1996, and to Nicolas Cage between 2002 and 2004. She was engaged to John Oszajca. She was single at the time of her death after her divorce from Lockwood was finalized in 2021.
Lisa Marie Presley was a well-liked celebrity who earned a lot of respect in the industry – which is why so many people are filled with heavy hearts at the moment. In the days following her passing, many of Lisa Marie’s friends and colleagues have taken to social media in honor of her life, career, and overall legacy.
“I’m heartbroken over the passing of Lisa Marie Presley. Lisa did not have an easy life, as some might think. May she be at peace, resting with her son and father now. Her mom Priscilla and her three daughters, Riley, Finley, and Harper, are in my prayers,” wrote Leah Remini on Twitter on January 12th.
Lisa Marie was most recently seen at the Golden Globe Awards on January 10th, where she crashed an interview with Austin Butler – the actor who played Elvis Presley in his latest biopic. The two snapped a photo together just two days before she passed away, which really seems to put time into perspective.
“Tom and I had spent some time with the family during the Elvis movie promotional tour. Lisa Marie was so honest and direct, vulnerable, and in a state of anticipation about the movie. She spoke so eloquently about her father, what the movie meant to her, that it was a celebration of her dad,” wrote Rita Wilson on Instagram.
