Major Update on Nancy Guthrie Kidnapping Suspect

Nancy Guthrie, aged 84, has been missing since the end of January, on the 31st to be exact. While officials have shared little about potential suspects, there was an important update on Monday concerning her family, addressing some rumors.

Nancy, the mother of TV personality Savannah Guthrie, was last spotted at her residence near Tucson, Arizona, after being dropped off. To date, a few individuals have been held in regard to the elderly woman’s disappearance, but unfortunately, Nancy remains unfound.

Authorities, alongside the FBI, have been involved deeply in this case. Recently, there was a crucial discoveryโ€”a glove near her home. As reported by CNN, this glove is believed to be of significant interest as it reportedly matches the ones worn by a person captured on her residence’s doorbell camera.

The investigative process has been comprehensive, exploring every angle around her potential abduction. Amongst those scrutinized was Tommaso Cioni, married to Nancyโ€™s daughter, Annie, sister of Savannah Guthrie. Being the last to see Nancy on that fateful January day, Tommaso faced questions regarding any possible involvement.

Clearing the Guthrie Family of Suspicions

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, in a discussion with the Daily Mail, emphasized that Cioni should not endure unfair scrutiny purely on the basis of being the last individual in Nancy’s company before she vanished.

This stance was reinforced by NBC News earlier, which communicated that the authorities were largely ruling out family members as suspects in this investigation.

Recently, new insights emerged, relieving the Guthrie family of any suspicion associated with Nancy’s abduction. Law enforcement officially confirmed that all members, including Tommaso, are free from suspect lists.

“Our investigations fully clear the Guthrie familyโ€”siblings and spouses alikeโ€”from any involvement,” stated Sheriff Nanos to the NY Post on Monday. He further emphasized their cooperation and role as genuine victims in the ongoing ordeal. He highlighted the inappropriateness and cruelty of any suggestions otherwise.

In response to this critical situation, the FBI has generously increased the reward from $50,000 to a noteworthy $100,000 for any substantial information leading directly to solving Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.

During these challenging times, our hearts go out to the Guthrie family. We hold hope in our hearts for Nancyโ€™s well-being and long for her safe and sound return.
