Donald Trump, known for his strong persona, might be masking a more vulnerable side. Recent discussions, featured on MSNBC’s The Weekend: Primetime, have focused on Trump potentially fearing the cognitive decline that afflicted his father, Fred Trump Sr., who suffered from Alzheimer’s in his later years.
Mary Trump is now adding her voice to the discussion regarding her uncle’s mental sharpness – her insights are especially poignant, given her background and family connection.
As a trained psychologist, Mary has previously expressed concerns regarding Donald Trump’s mental and emotional state. In an episode of her YouTube show, Trump Trolls Trump, she labels his recent behavior as a “reign of idiocy.”
In her view, Donald Trump is exhibiting increasing signs of cognitive deterioration.
“We’re now 166 days into the Trump regime’s chaotic reign,” she remarked, emphasizing what she sees as a continuing decline.
Mary, the author of the bestseller Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man, didn’t hold back when assessing her uncle’s mental state.
“Time flies when things go awry and democracy suffers under a man who might not even tie his shoes,” she said humorously.
Commentary on Public Appearances
While her remarks were candid, she acknowledged a rare skill of Trump’s: his ability to blend narcissism with mental lapses. “Donald does few things well, but I’ll credit him for mixing cognitive decline with narcissism,” she noted.
Mary criticized Trump’s public outings, particularly his visit to the controversial Florida immigration center, dubbed Alligator Alcatraz. His vague response to questions about detainee timelines strayed into unrelated topics, such as taxes and office decor.
She criticized his response, quipping: “The question wasn’t about Florida enjoyment, and he had no answer because he lacks one.”
Mary described Trump as “increasingly detached,” adding, “His attention span is comparable to a toddler’s, a long-standing issue.”
She expressed concern over Trump’s avoidance of truthful engagement with the public. “I tire of this bully using his position to evade truth-sharing with Americans,” she declared.
Mary also addressed Trump’s recent venture into the fragrance market with a $249 perfume called “Victory,” advertised on Truth Social, featuring a golden Trump figurine.
“It’s disturbing for a president to profit from his tenure, yet here we are,” she commented, ending with a sharp remark: “The thought of guessing that fragrance’s odor is cruel to those who remain level-headed.”
