Meghan Markle: From Dream Job to Royal’s Departure

Meghan Markle: Following Her Dreams

Meghan Markle, the former actress turned Duchess, embarked on a remarkable journey before finding her place in the British monarchy. Unlike other members of the royal family, Meghan already had a successful acting career, having gained fame for her role as Rachel in the TV series Suits. But before she met Prince Harry and became a royal, Meghan was pursuing a different path.

Born in Los Angeles, California, on August 4, 1981, Meghan was introduced to the entertainment industry at a young age. Her father, a lighting director and Emmy winner, often took her on set, giving her a glimpse into the world of showbiz.

Embracing Self-Acceptance

Meghan’s journey to finding herself was not always easy. During an audition, a casting director told her, “You need to know that you’re enough. More Meghan, less makeup.” These words had a profound impact on her, shaping her perspective and teaching her the importance of self-acceptance.

“I must have been about 24 when a casting director looked at me during an audition and said, ‘You need to know that you’re enough. More Meghan, less makeup. You must understand that you are sufficient. A chant that has now been so ingrained in me that I can’t go a day without hearing it chime,” Meghan shared.

Exploring New Ventures

Before Meghan started her blog, The Tig, in 2012, she had another idea in mind. Legal records reveal that she attempted to register a trademark for the concept of the Lali firm, which would have offered lollipops and drops. Unfortunately, the candy shop venture never came to fruition, and Meghan moved on.

Meghan’s love for food and cooking is well-known. Even though her candy shop plans didn’t work out, she remains passionate about cuisine. She revealed in an interview with Good Housekeeping that she loves eating and throwing dinner parties. A perfectly roasted chicken is her go-to dish, which she finds both delicious and impressive.

“In my opinion, there is nothing more delicious or impressive than a perfectly roasted chicken,” Meghan said. “It alters the landscape. I take that to dinner parties and meet lots of people.” She also shared her love for health-conscious snacks like hummus and carrots, as well as her weekly food preparations like chia seed pudding, almond milk, and green juice.
