Melania Trump Shares Her Experience Meeting Donald Trump at a New York Nightspot in 1998
Melania Trump, the former First Lady, shared some interesting insights about what initially drew her to Donald Trump when they encountered each other for the first time in 1998.

She relayed these personal reflections in her latest memoir, “Melania: A Memoir,” published last October, detailing her connection with the former President.
Their first meeting occurred at the lively Kit Kat Klub nightclub in New York City, during the bustling Fashion Week.
At that point in time, Donald Trump had recently parted ways with his second spouse, Marla Maples. Meanwhile, Melania, a model originally from Slovenia, had just started making a name for herself in the United States.
Trump, attending the club with an attractive companion, was introduced to Melania in the VIP section. Despite being with another woman, he intriguingly requested Melania’s phone number.
Melania’s Unique Response to Donald’s Interest
In a clever twist, Melania chose not to give out her number. Instead, she asked Donald to give her his number.
After their initial meet-up, she waited a few days before reaching out, and eventually, their first date took place at his elaborate estate, Seven Springs, located in Bedford, New York.

Melania Describes Trump’s Appealing Traits
Reflecting on their initial conversation, Melania, now 54, described herself as being drawn to two particular traits of the 78-year-old former President.
She wrote in her memoir, “From the moment our conversation began, I was captivated by his charm and easygoing nature.”
Her tale aligns with a 2016 Harper’s Bazaar interview where she recounted, “He wanted my number, but he was with a date, so of course I didn’t give it to him.”
Standing firm, she reportedly told him, “I am not giving you my number; you give me yours, and I will call you.”
Her curiosity led her to question whether it was a professional gesture, saying, “I wanted to see if it was a business number. What if it’s business?”
Donald won her over by offering all of his contact details, which highlighted his vitality and energy, pulling her toward him.

Dating continued between the pair, and following several years together, Donald proposed at the famed 2004 Met Gala.
A year later, their luxurious wedding took place at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s Florida estate, and soon after, they joyfully welcomed their son, Barron, in 2006.
Melania has previously expressed her individuality, particularly as Trump re-entered the political arena.
Speaking with FOX News, she mentioned, “Maybe some people see me as just a wife of the President, but I’m standing on my own two feet, independent, I have my own thoughts, I have my own ‘yes’ and ‘no.’”
