Mick Jagger can’t hold back his tears

The death of Jeff Beck, guitarist for The Yardbirds, occurred not too long ago, and the entire music community is mourning his loss.

The deceased musician’s family released a statement on Wednesday, stating that bacterial meningitis was the cause of the musician’s death the previous day. Wednesday was the day that the statement was made public. He was 78.

His family issued a statement in which they said, “On behalf of his family, it is with deep and profound regret that we relay the news of Jeff Beck’s Passing,” the statement read. His family had previously released a statement in which they said, “On behalf of his family, it is with deep and profound regret that we relay the news that Jeff Beck “After an unexpected bout with bacterial meningitis, succumbed to his illness and went away yesterday without experiencing any discomfort or agony. As they struggle to come to terms with the death of their loved one, his family asks that they be given privacy during this trying time.”

The news of Beck’s demise inspired many of his old friends and business colleagues, such as Jimmy Page, his former bandmate with the Yardbirds, to share their recollections of him with the general public. After joining the English rock band as Page’s successor in 1965, he eventually took over for Eric Clapton as the band’s guitarist the following year.

It was Mick Jagger’s debut solo album, titled She’s the Boss, which was released in 1985. Beck was invited to perform lead guitar on the album. In response to Beck’s death, Jagger wrote on Twitter that “we have lost a great man and one of the best guitar players in the world.” Jagger was referring to Beck as “one of the best guitar players in the world.” Jagger was instrumental in securing Beck’s participation on the record.

He continued by saying that everyone would miss him very much after his passing.
