Miley Cyrus Seemingly Confirms Feud Rumors After Not Thanking Her Dad in Her Grammy’s Acceptance Speech

Miley Cyrus Defends Her Decision To End Her Touring Career: “I’m Just On My Endless Summer Vacation”

After rumors began to swirl following Billy Ray Cyrus’s engagement and subsequent marriage, his daughter Miley Ray Cyrus has seemed to confirm them.

According to rumblings on the internet, Miley and Billy, despite being very close at one point, started growing apart when Billy, 62, became close to his new wife, Firerose, 34, who is also a musician.

While neither Billy or Miley have addressed the rumors, Billy absence from the Grammys and from Miley’s acceptance speeches have reignited rumors that things aren’t great between the famous father-daughter duo.

While accepting her first Grammy, Miley shared a poignant story about being rewarded for living life on her own terms, but her second Grammy she used to thank several people in her life, including her sister, Brandi, her boyfriend, and her mom, Trish. Left absent from the speech was her father.

“This award is amazing. But I really hope that it doesn’t change anything because my life was beautiful yesterday. Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy, but everyone in this world is spectacular,” she said, before adding with a laugh, “So please don’t think that this is important, even though it’s very important, right guys?”

She went on to thank “everyone that’s standing on this stage right now Tom, Tyler, Michael and Greg. Our teams, my team, Crush, Columbia, my mommy, my sister, my love, my main gays because look how good I look. Anyone else? Your wife, your fiancée, all the people that we love. Thank you all so much. I don’t think I forgot anyone. But I might have forgotten underwear. Bye!”

Miley then doubled down on her decision to not include several members of her family in her Instagram post the next day.

Miley Cyrus Seemingly Confirms Feud Rumors After Not Thanking Her Dad in Her Grammy’s Acceptance Speech

In an interview with British Vogue, which was published digitally on May 18, Miley Cyrus made it known that she’s no longer interested in touring and has no plans of touring in the near future. Her shocking decision came just one week after she released her eighth studio album, Endless Summer Vacation.

“I can’t. Not only ‘can’t,’ because can’t is your capability, but my desire. Do I want to live my life for anyone else’s pleasure or fulfillment other than my own?” she said of her decision to end her touring career. While she loves her fans and appreciates their loyal support, touring isn’t something she particularly enjoys.

“Singing for hundreds of thousands of people isn’t really the thing that I love,” she told British Vogue – which featured the 30-year-old artist on their June 2023 cover. “There’s no connection. There’s no safety. It’s also not natural. It’s so isolating because if you’re in front of 100,000 people then you are alone.”

On May 24 (Wednesday), Miley Cyrus took to her Instagram to defend and clarify her decision – while also explaining the reasoning behind her decision. She began her message with a shoutout to her fans, who she feels more connected to now than ever before – adding that her fans are ‘felt deeply in my heart.’

“I’m constantly creating and innovating new ways that I can stay connected to the audience I love – without sacrificing my own essentials,” she wrote. “Performing for YOU has been some of the best days of my life & we will continue this journey together as we have for the last almost two decades.”

She reassured her fanbase that her decision has nothing to do with her lack of appreciation for them. Instead, she’s making this decision for her own well-being – citing the ‘reality of life on the road’ and detailing some of the challenges that come with it, such as sleeping on a moving bus for months at a time.

“It isn’t what’s best for me right NOW, & if you’ve been following my career you know that I always change and the way I feel about that could too,” she said – implying there’s a chance she goes on tour in the future if she changes her mindset. “Love you forever, I’m just on my Endless Summer Vacation.”

Miley Cyrus’ New Album is Breaking the Charts

When Miley Cyrus releases new music, people all over the world stop what they’re doing to give it a listen – and a majority of them enjoy what they hear. Things were no different with her newest album, Endless Summer Vacation, which she released on May 10 – four months after releasing ‘Flowers,’ the first single.

That song went on to peak at No. 1 on the Mediabase pop radio airplay chart and currently sits at No. 2 on the chart. Since then, two other songs from the album entered the top 20 – ‘River,’ which peaked at No. 20, and ‘Jaded,’ which entered the top 20 this week and currently sits at No. 19 on the airplay chart.

Endless Summer Vacation is the 30-year-old’s eighth studio album, but her first album since 2020 – when she released *Plastic Hearts. *It was also her first album since leaving RCA Records in 2021 and signing with Columbia Records shortly after.

She spent seven years and released four albums under RCA.

And while Miley Cyrus’ three singles from Endless Summer Vacation are doing well in the charts, there’s much more where that comes from with this album – which features 12 tracks total and songs with both Sia and Brandi Carlile.

She also wrote several songs with Michael Pollack and Gregory “Aldae” Hein.
