The former couple had a kid named Josey, who is now eight years old, and they were married from 2014 until 2018.
A poignant farewell is being said by Ryan Dorsey to his cherished pet at this time. On Monday, the actor, who is now 40 years old, made the sad announcement that his dog, Emmy, had passed away. He also sent a heartfelt homage to the puppy, which he had previously shared with his late ex-girlfriend, the Glee actress Naya Rivera.
The information was disclosed by Dorsey via the use of an Instagram clip that was accompanied with a well-known rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole.
“Josey and I came home from opening day for baseball and came to find Emmy at her final resting place, on the bathroom floor laid up next to her older sister, Lucy,” he wrote in a comment accompanying the photograph. She had a happy life, and her heart pounded as hard as it possibly could. It would have been ten years old this summer…It’s been a frustrating weekend for me.
Furthermore, he said, “Oh my sweet, sweet babygirl, Emmy.” When we picked you up, I will never forget that day. To get to you, we traveled to a location just north of San Diego. You were the least desirable of the group. Only one of them remained. The name of an award was already in your possession, therefore we did not even bother to modify it. That was you, Emmy. As Emmington Brown, often known as Sweet Baby Emmers or… I will never forget how your biological mother accompanied us to the entrance, and how I carried you out of the house in my arms beside your new mother.
The marriage between Dorsey and Rivera lasted from 2014 till 2018. They have a kid together, Josey, who is now eight years old.
Rivera was last seen in July of 2020, just after she and her kid, who was four years old at the time, were on a boat excursion on Lake Piru in California. She was found five days after her corpse was discovered. The last moments of Rivera’s life were described as courageous by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department. Rivera was assisting her kid in reaching safety.
It would seem that Dorsey is finding solace in the knowledge that Rivera will be there to take care of Emmy after she crosses the rainbow bridge.
We will meet you on the other side of the rainbow. In the meanwhile, be sure to keep mama company. He wrote, “We love your life.”
In other parts of his statements, Dorsey lauded the deceased dog, describing it as “the sweetest and most quiet dog” and referring to it as his “emotional support animal.”
“I would take you to set with me and people would barely know you were in the trailer,” he said in his memory. I would leave when they called me to set, and you never barked or did anything else. You didn’t give a damn about it. On walks, if a dog barked at you or strolled up to you to say what’s up, you paid them no heed, you kept your eyes up, and you kept your head down. It didn’t matter if you were deaf; you were the s**t the whole time. Because you were my road dog. The two of us traveled everywhere together, and you were able to sleep like it was nobody’s business.
In an interview with ET from the previous year, Dorsey discussed the challenges and triumphs that come with being a single parent.
There are certain days that are more challenging than others, and there are also days when I am hopeful and days that I am unhappy. In an interview with ET, Dorsey said, “I guess that’s for everyone in life, but it’s difficult for me when Josey will say certain things and if he misses his mom or whatever it is, or he’ll bring up certain moments that obviously he’ll never forget from the worst day of his life.”
And there isn’t much for me to say other than, ‘I know buddy and I love you,’ and then I just give him a hug. Not much else comes out of my mouth. Just some human touch between a father and his kid, rubbing his head and squeezing him because that’s all I can do since I don’t really have any solutions,” Dorsey added. There are some individuals who believe that everything occurs for a purpose, but I am not one of those people. Then you grow older and you see what’s going on in the world, and it’s hard for me to get behind… that type of slogan. When I was younger, I was, but not anymore.
The delighted father continued by saying that Josey is “overall, a happy kid” who has a variety of interests and activities that are ambitious.
“I’m doing the best I can,” he stated on the occasion. “I am making an effort to maintain my composure and to provide him a life that is both secure and joyful. He is successful in school and has a large number of friends. He is doing pretty well. He is such a sociable young man. Everyone has a soft spot for Josey, and he’s hilarious.
