Meghan Markle Shares Her Thoughts on the LA Wildfires

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, brought an emotional message to her followers on Instagram about the tragic wildfires in Los Angeles. Her heartfelt video truly showed the depth of her compassion as she nearly cried discussing the plight of a young fire victim.
Starting off her video message, Meghan mentioned, “I was just told that something arrived that I had been waiting for.” Her eyes revealed the sorrow and empathy she felt for those affected by the fires.

Revisiting a moment after the devastating Los Angeles fires, Meghan shared a poignant story. She and her husband, Prince Harry, met with a mother and her 15-year-old daughter who had lost their home in the disaster. This meeting occurred during their visit to Altadena, California.
The mother recounted a touching memory to Meghan. As they returned to their now-destroyed house, the daughter went in search of a T-shirt from a recent Billie Eilish concert, which she had left in the laundry room.

Meghan’s excitement was palpable as she displayed signed items and a lunch box from Billie Eilish, intended as a surprise for the young fan. Even without fully understanding the significance of the items, she acknowledged, “You guys, I don’t even know what all this stuff means, but it’s signed for her.”

With genuine gratitude, Meghan acknowledged all those involved in this act of kindness: “Huge thank you, Billie Eilish. This is going to mean so much to her, and honestly to Adam Levine and Behati, you guys helped get this over the line to everyone who’s showing up for people in big and small ways to get through what’s happened in California.”
