Yeison Jimรฉnez, a Colombian singer-songwriter known for mรบsica popular, has died at age 34.
On Saturday, Jan. 10, a plane with the registration N325FA crashed in the area between Paipa and Duitama, Colombia, according to the countryโsย Special Administrative Unit of Civil Aeronautics. The aircraft was traveling to Medellรญn, and all six people on board were killed.

Jimรฉnez and members of his team were later confirmed among the victims after a representative shared the news in a statement on hisย Instagramย account.
A statement fromย Yeison Jimรฉnezโs team confirmed his death with โdeep sorrow,โ describing him not only as an artist, but as a loving son, brother, friend, and a man who turned his life story into hope for others. The statement also expressed condolences to the families of the other victims: Jefferson Osorio, Juan Manuel, Oscar Marรญn, Weisman Mora, and pilot Captain Fernando Torres.
The small plane, believed to be owned by Jimรฉnezโs company, YJ Company SAS, crashed shortly after takeoff around 4 p.m. local time. Jimรฉnez had been traveling to Medellรญn, near Marinilla, where he was scheduled to perform that night.
Perย PEOPLE, just moments before the crash, Jimรฉnezโs photographer, Weisman Mora, shared a short video on Instagram showing the view from inside the plane as it taxied on the runway. Video recorded after the crash shows the aircraft engulfed in flames as emergency responders attempted to put out the fire.
Authorities confirmed that all six people on board were killed. The Technical Directorate for Accident Investigation is investigating the cause of the crash.
