Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ordered to evacuate their home

A torrential downpour is threatening Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Montecito estate as they deal with the media maelstrom. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have experienced an eventful start to the year. Harry and Meghan have continued to stir up controversy since the debut of their Netflix docuseries “Harry & Meghan” in 2022. On January 10, Harry’s new memoir “Spare” was finally released.

The book delves deeply into Harry’s life as a senior royal, revealing shocking details about the royal family of Britain, including his physical altercation with brother Prince William and the time the Duke of Cambridge and his wife, Kate Middleton, encouraged him to attend a Halloween party wearing his infamous Nazi costume. The contentious book describes Harry and Meghan’s choice to step down as “senior” royals and pursue financial independence as well.

Harry said he wanted to share his tale to demonstrate to people “that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think” in a statement announcing his plans to distribute “Spare” (via People).

The bombshell biography, which has apparently raised some eyebrows within the Royal family and elicited conflicting reactions from royal admirers, will be “true and fully truthful,” he further added. “I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become,” he added.

In top to all the turmoil surrounding Harry’s book, he and Meghan are currently being forced to leave their house in California due to record-breaking rainfall and flooding.

A severe storm in California prompted thousands of Montecito residents to leave their homes, including the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. According to BBC, on January 9 in the late afternoon, due to excessive rainfall and floods, the Montecito Fire Department issued an order for the immediate evacuation of the neighborhood and its surrounding canyons.

Those unable to escape were instructed to go to a high area or their innermost room. The warning coincides with the fifth anniversary of the tragic mudslides in Montecito in 2018, which, according to Fox Weather, resulted in 23 fatalities, 167 injuries, and the destruction of hundreds of houses. Famed television star Ellen DeGeneres uploaded a video of the violent floods that hit their region on Instagram. The entire town of Montecito is being evacuated, she said. “The fire and mudslides that claimed so many lives and caused so many to lose their homes and lives occurred five years ago today. This is absurd.”

Prince Harry and Meghan moved into a $14 million Montecito property with their children, Archie and Lilibet, after leaving their posts as senior royals in 2020. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have already left the house or they may have never entered, according to the Los Angeles Times. According to some sources, Harry is reportedly in NYC right now promoting his new biography, “Spare.” The outlet claims that inquiries for updates were not promptly answered by the couple’s representatives.
