The drama unfolded just days before Prince Harryโs 2018 wedding to Meghan Markle
In his book Spare, which hit shelves last year, Prince Harry disclosed a lot of personal moments, rifts and secrets that nobody could have guessed, including an alleged feud between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton.

Apparently the exchange between the two happened just days before Meghanโs nuptials to Harry in 2018.
This moment, which reportedly caused Meghan to make Kate cry โ was previously revealed in leaked excerpts of the book.
It explained that Kate had allegedly made Meghan cry after she demanded that โall the dressesโ for the flower girls had to be remade.
Harry even included the actual text exchange in his writing.

Kate apparently wrote to the bride-to-be: โCharlotteโs dress is too big, too long, too baggy.โ
โShe cried when she tried it on at home,โ Kate added.
After that, Meghan went on to say that a tailor could make alterations, replying: โRight, and I told you the tailor has been standing by since 8am. Here. At KP. Can you take Charlotte to have it altered, as the other mums are doing?โ
Thatโs when Kate asked for โall the dresses be remade.โ
Harry then interjected that: โMeg asked if Kate was aware of what was going on right now. With her father.
โKate said she was well aware, but the dresses. And the wedding is in four days!โ
The whole thing allegedly resulted from Kateโs โproblems with the way Meg was planning her wedding. Something about a party for the page boys? It went back and forth.โ
Thatโs when Meghan told her that she wasnโt โsure what else to say. If the dress doesnโt fit then please take Charlotte to see Ajay. Heโs been waiting all day.โ
It was reported that Kate responded with a cold โfineโ and the next thing Harry knew, Meghan was โsobbingโ on the floor.
According to the tabloids months later, it was reported that Meghan was the instigator and made Kate cry.

During her interview in 2021 with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan rehashed her side of the story and how the tabloids affected her.
She said: โI donโt think itโs fair to her to get into the details of [the fight], because she apologized. And Iโve forgiven her. What was hard to get over was being blamed for something that not only I didnโt do, but that happened to me.
โAnd the people who were part of our wedding going to our comms team and saying, โI know this didnโt happen.’โ
