Prince Harry Shares Heartfelt Update on King Charles After Their First Meeting in Over a Year

Prince Harry Offers a Heartfelt Update on King Charles Following Their Long-Awaited Reunion

After more than a year apart, Prince Harry and his father, King Charles III, have finally reconnected. Their relationship has been a bit strained lately, having last met 19 months ago in February of the previous year. Back then, the Duke made a sudden trip from his California residence to the UK upon hearing news of Charles’s health concerns.

So, itโ€™s understandable that royal enthusiasts were keenly watching the eagerly anticipated reunion on the 10th of September unfold.

On the evening of the 10th of September, a short while after departing Clarence House in London where he spent time with his father, Harry attended an Invictus reception at The Gherkin. Surrounded by government officials and corporate supporters, he exchanged greetings and shared insights from his recent family meeting.

A Meeting Long in the Making

The conversation, which reportedly lasted 54 minutes, happened just a few months post Harryโ€™s public announcement of his wish to reunite with his family back in May.

When asked about his father’s well-being at the Invictus gathering, Harry smiled and assured everyone, โ€œYes, heโ€™s great, thank you.โ€

This get-together was notably the first King Charles had with Harry since the announcement regarding the conversation around the King’s health. It unfolded without the presence of Harryโ€™s wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. It’s worth remembering Harry stepped back as a senior working royal in 2020, causing quite a stir in royal circles.

Despite lasting just over half an hour, the interaction seemed meaningful and warm.

Additionally, Harry took a moment on Tuesday, the 9th of September, to make a noteworthy contribution of ยฃ1.1 million to Nottinghamโ€™s Community Recording Studio. This charitable project, supported by Children in Need, offers assistance to youth affected by violence. Harry emphasized the significance of this donation as being personal, coming from his own funds rather than through his Archewell organization.

A Generous Gesture That Sparked Mixed Reactions

But it didnโ€™t take long for the anti-Harry and Meghan crowd to launch a full-scale attack against Harryโ€™s kind donation, which they referred to as being on the โ€œcharm offensive.โ€

Luckily for the father of two, a lot of people retaliated to support the โ€œgenuineโ€ and โ€œcaringโ€ donation.

Today, September 11, marks the end of Harryโ€™s four-day vacation. The Duke will return to California by plane after concluding his visit by touring a foundation founded in his motherโ€™s honor.
