Princess Catherine shares major cancer update six month after sharing her diagnosis

A new statement from Princess Catherine obtained by CNN has revealed more information about her cancer battle.

After revealing she was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in March, Catherine is revealing that she’s entering a “new phase of recovery” and will be “undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can,” CNN reports.

While fighting cancer and recovering from her treatments, Catherine has kept a low public profile only making two public appearances since announcing her diagnosis.

“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” the 42-year-old princess shared. “The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family.”

“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you,” Catherine continued. “This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.”

According to CNN, Catherine said she is now focused on “doing what I can to remain cancer free,” […] “with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life.”

“Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes. I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can,” the princess said.

In July, Princess Catherine attended Wembley with her daughter Princess Charlotte where she received a standing ovation. That was her last public appearance.

Catherine did make make note in her statement when her next public outing will be.
