Rest In Peace, Grammy-Nominated Musician has Died

Aaron Spears was a Grammy nominated drummer who played for quite a few famous singers including Usher, Carrie Underwood, The Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Adam Lambert, Lil Wayne and so many more. Most recently, he played for Ariana Grande.

Sadly, on October 30, 2023, Spears’ wife, Jessica Dobson, shared the sad news of her husband’s death. In a statement posted on his Instagram account, she wrote, “It is with a heavy heart and overwhelming sadness that I share the news of the passing of my beloved husband, Aaron Spears.”

Dobson described her late husband as “an incredibly accomplished drummer” and “a devoted father to our precious son, August.”

She asked Spears’ fans to “remember Aaron for the incredible person he was and the amazing music he brought to our world.”

Dobson did not include a cause of death in her post. His cause of death has yet to be publicly disclosed.

Spears was only 47 years old when he died. Just two days before his death, he posted a picture on Instagram in honor of his birthday. He wrote, “I don’t know if you can see it in my smile but I am soooooooooooooo thankful!!! With every trip around the sun that God blesses me with, my heart is filled with more gratitude and I’m more focused on the things that are most important.”

He shared his thankfulness for his fans and followers as well as his family and friends. He wrote, “This has honestly been one of the best years of my life!!!” Sadly, Spears didn’t get another trip around the sun.

Most recently, Spears performed with Grande as her drummer. Upon learned the news of Spears’ death, Grande shared her thoughts in an Instagram Story. She wrote, “I can’t wrap my head around this.” She described him as “The absolute brightest light of a human being.”
