After suffering from sickness for several weeks, Richard Gere ultimately decided to check himself into a hospital for treatment, and he is now on the mend.

According to Deadline’s report, the actor was on vacation with his family in the Mexican city of Nuevo Vallarta when he was given the diagnosis with pneumonia.

Initially, it was reported by TMZ that the celebrity had developed a cough, which prompted him to visit the hospital, where it was discovered that he was actually suffering a case of pneumonia. On the other hand, after staying there for the night, he was released.

While Richard was in Mexico to help celebrate his wife Alejandra Silva’s 40th birthday, Alejandra took to Instagram to give an update on Richard’s health. The Spanish publicist shared a photo of herself on the beach walking with her and the actor’s two kids together – their two boys were born in 2019 and 2020, respectively – and shared that everyone was thankfully on the path to recovery. The photo was accompanied by the message that everyone was doing well.

She said, “Thank you all for the birthday greetings,” and then she went on to say, “After almost three weeks of everyone being sick in our family today finally I feel much better!”

She stated, “Thank you for all of the love, I give it all back to you!” in conclusion. she was quickly showered with warm wishes from her devoted supporters in return.

After revealing in her first Instagram post on Friday that Richard had been admitted to the hospital, Alejandra visited the platform once more on Sunday to provide a further update on his condition on behalf of Richard.

She said in the caption of a photo she shared on social media that “I woke up this morning and I saw the news and all of your kind and worry messages, he is healing.” In the shot, Richard can be seen wearing a mask while the couple is out strolling with one of their sons.

She went on to say that “He is doing lot better today than he did yesterday! The worst of it is already behind us! We want to express our gratitude to everyone who has taken the time to send us kind words.”
