Recently, Richard Gere, at the age of 70, became a father once more.
In February, Richard and his wife, the 35-year-old Alejandra Silva, welcomed a new little one into their family.

This is the first child they’ve had together, although both bring children from prior relationships into their union.
For Richard, this includes his 20-year-old son, Homer James Jigme, whom he co-parents with former wife Carey Lowell.
I know you might be curious about how this 20-year-old has turned out. Luckily, we can satisfy your curiosity, and you surely won’t be let down.
Richard Gere made a name for himself as a Hollywood heartthrob after his roles in “American Gigolo,” “Pretty Woman,” and “An Officer and a Gentleman.”
He later met his first wife, Cindy Crawford, a supermodel and actress. The story goes that they met at a BBQ.
“We chatted, had a date, then another,” Crawford recalled.
Soon, the duo became a celebrated Hollywood couple, trailed by paparazzi everywhere they went.
They graced red carpets, magazine covers, and dined at Manhattan and Los Angeles’s finest eateries. However, Gere was hesitant about marrying his younger girlfriend.
But come December 1991, the pair took a spontaneous trip to Las Vegas to get married. It was an intimate affair, attended by only a few guests at the chapel.
“It was the wedding I envisioned. It came together at the last minute,” Crawford said about the event.
Four years later, the couple went their separate ways. Cindy often claimed their age gap was insurmountable.
She was just 22 while Richard was 39 when they first met.
“At 22, I was more agreeable with the idea of following someone’s lead, but eventually, I yearned to lead sometimes and walk beside my partner,” she explained.
Seven years post-divorce, Gere found love again with model and actress Carey Lowell.
February 2000 marked the arrival of their first and only child together, Homer Gere.
Unlike his past reluctance to fatherhood with Crawford, Gere embraced parenthood with Carey Lowell wholeheartedly.
“The decision was effortlessly natural. I was never bent on having children, but with Carey, who already had a child, it felt entirely right,” Gere shared with The Guardian in 2002.
Homer was born in New York City, named in honor of their fathers, with the Tibetan middle name Jigme, reflecting Gere’s advocacy for Tibetan human rights.
Discussing how parenthood shifted his priorities, Gere told The Guardian:
“You come to realize that trivial things pale in comparison to what’s truly important. All those clichés about parenting? Absolutely true.”
From a young age, Homer found himself in the public eye due to his celebrity parents.
When his parents parted ways in 2003, the family’s privacy was heavily scrutinized.
The media often speculated on their divorce, bringing to light battles over Homer’s custody. Carey Lowell lodged significant claims citing her career sacrifices for Gere and their son, seeking half of Gere’s income as recompense.
Through his mother, Homer has a half-sister, Hannah Dunne, from Lowell’s previous marriage to Thomas Griffin Dunne.
Last year, Homer gained a half-brother when Alejandra Silva and Richard Gere welcomed a baby boy in New York.
Despite his illustrious lineage, Homer tends to shy away from the spotlight. He is currently residing in New York.
It seems Richard’s undeniable charisma and good looks have been passed down to Homer.
Nevertheless, Homer prefers to lead a private life. Though he grew up in the public eye, accompanying his parents on various occasions during his childhood.
A notable moment includes when Homer joined his father at the Giffoni Film Festival in Italy, the largest children’s film festival in Europe.
