Penny Lancaster, Rod Stewart’s wife, has received a barrage of criticism after being photographed wearing a tiny bikini on a yacht off the coast of Sardinia, Italy.
Some fans claim the stunning blonde is “sagging” and “drooping” in the swimwear, which “is not flattering,” while others note the 53-year-old model may not be “wow” and there’s “no need for name calling.”
Rod Stewart took some time off from his hectic tour schedule to spend with his enormous family in Sardinia, Italy.
“Another amazing family holiday together (a few were sadly missed) in the [Mediterranean] bonding, healing, love, and laughter,” writes Lancaster, who married the actor in 2007, in an Instagram post. The tweet includes a photo of the 79-year-old “Maggie May” singer with his sons Aiden, 13, and Alastair, 18, as well as his daughters Ruby, 37, and Kimberly, 44.
His grandson, Otis, who is just over a year old, and his two sons-in-law, Adam Sumner and Jake Alick, were also present.
“We like to take every opportunity to bring the family, children, and grandchildren together,” Lancaster tells Hello! in a July 2024 interview. “Part of the family lives in America, part in England, so it requires a lot of planning, but at least two or three times a year, the whole clan comes together.”
‘Wrong bikini top’
Before returning to the Colosseum at Caesars Palace for his Las Vegas engagement, the patriarch and his wife were photographed enjoying the sun on a $65 million super yacht at Porto Cervo, an Italian coastal town in northern Sardinia, Italy.
Stewart, the singer of “Tonight’s the Night,” shielded his face from the hot sun with a towel and was dressed in a lemon-colored button-down short-sleeved shirt.
Lancaster, who met the “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy” singer in 1999 while still married to model Rachel Hunter, did not hide her magnificent 53-year-old physique.
The adoring wife, dressed in a small halter neck black bikini with her blonde hair put into a ponytail, was seen playing in the crystal clear waters or reclining on the deck of the luxury yacht.
While debating Lancaster’s appearance online, some fans asked the mother of two to reconsider her wardrobe choices.
“Observing the sagging drooping wrinkled up mammary sack barley restrained by stretching to the maximum material…””It would be more like Ewwww,” tweets one critic. “Wrong bikini top,” says another. A third, in reference to Lancaster’s modeling past, comments, “For a woman who was famous for wearing clothes for a living, she is sorely letting the side down.” She should not only hire a stylist before going out in public, but she should also understand that ‘just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. “Leave her alone, they are on holiday on their yacht not a public beach,” snipes another.
Fashion icon
On July 12, the London-born singer hyped up fans for his return to Caesars Palace with a post that shows him sitting on the yacht, wearing a black and white striped short suit.
He composes:
“All striped up on me holidays and looking forward to [Caesars Palace] in Las Vegas 24th July till the 7th of August.”
The suit is a modernized version of one he wore in 1973, one of several “anything but subtle” ensembles that won him Vogue’s label of “fashion icon.”
