Sad news about the beloved actress Jane Fonda

On Friday, Jane Fonda revealed that she has been diagnosed with non-lymphoma, Hodgkin’s which is referred to as a “highly manageable cancer,” and that she has started chemotherapy for the condition.

The Oscar-winning actress and environmental activist, who is 84 years old, struck an upbeat tone in a message that was released to social media. In the statement, she claimed that she would not allow the sickness to prevent her from raising awareness of the risks associated with climate change.

Fonda stated in an email to her friends, “So, my dear friends, I have something personal I want to share.” “I was recently given a diagnosis of non-lymphoma Hodgkin’s and have begun receiving chemotherapy treatment. This is a malignancy that responds quite well to treatment. Since just 20% of people make it through, I count myself quite fortunate. I am also extremely fortunate because I am covered by health insurance and have access to the most qualified medical professionals and therapies.

I have come to the unpleasant realization that I am privileged in this situation. Cancer has touched the lives of almost every family in the United States at some point or another, and despite the prevalence of the disease, far too many people do not have access to high-quality medical treatment like I do. This is wrong.”

She continued, “We also need to be talking a lot more not just about treatments, but also about what caused the problem so that we can get rid of it. For instance, individuals need to be aware that cancer can be caused by fossil fuels. Also polluting the environment are insecticides, the majority of which are derived from fossil fuels like mine. I am currently undergoing chemotherapy for a period of six months and am able to cope very well with the treatments. Believe me when I say that I will not let any of this prevent me from engaging in climate activism.”

Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is the most common type of lymphoma, as stated by the Mayo Clinic “a form of cancer that develops in the lymphatic system, which is a component of the immune system that protects the body from infectious agents. White blood cells known as lymphocytes proliferate in an irregular manner and might potentially form growths (tumors) anywhere in the body when a patient has non-lymphoma.” Hodgkin’s In addition to this, the group states that improvements in diagnosis and treatment “have helped improve the outlook for persons who have this disease.”

Fonda has had a distinguished and lengthy career in the film industry, with highlights being her wins for Best Actress in the films Klute (1971) and Coming Home (1978). She was honored with the AFI Life Achievement Award in 2014 as well as the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes in the previous year.

The seventh and last season of the Netflix comedy Grace and Frankie was published earlier this year, and it included Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. Fonda’s role on the show was relatively recent. She is also a dedicated environmental activist, and in 2019, she was detained multiple times as a result of taking part in demonstrations in Washington, District of Columbia.
