After receiving the incorrect diagnosis, Sharon Stone will undergo surgery to remove a sizable fibroid tumor from her body.
After suffering a brain hemorrhage and stroke that nearly took her life 21 years ago, the Basic Instinct actress, now 64 years old, is undergoing treatment today.
Following revealing that the new growth, which occurs in or around the womb, was found in her body after a previous medical misdiagnosis, she is now urging her admirers to get second views from doctors. She said that she discovered the growth in her body.
She provided an update on her health status by posting to her Instagram Stories, in which she stated that she had “just had another misdiagnosis and erroneous procedure,” and that she had undergone “double epidural” treatment for her discomfort.
She continued by saying that the suffering became worse, and when she went to get a second opinion from a different doctor, they informed her that she had a “big fibroid tumour” that “must be removed.”
The actress issued a warning to the 3.4 million people who follow her on Instagram: “I am specifically addressing the ladies here: do not get blown off. Seek the advice of another person. It has the potential to save your life.”
Sharon estimated that it would take her anywhere from one to six weeks to recuperate from the traumatic experience. She thanked supporters for their concern and ended her message by saying, “It’s all good.”
Sharon, who is the biological mother of kids Roan, 22, Laird, 17, and Quinn, 16, who were all adopted, revealed earlier this year that she has miscarried nine times and lost all of her pregnancies.
She discussed her other health issues in her autobiography, The Beauty of Living Twice, which she published in 2021. In that book, she revealed that benign tumors were removed from her body in 2001. She described these tumors as being “gigantic” and stating that they were larger than one of her breasts.
Within the same calendar year, she suffered a cerebral bleed as well as a stroke.
