The loss of Sharon Stone’s nephew is something that she is still trying to come to terms with.
Thursday was the day when the actress, who is 63 years old, uploaded a snapshot to Instagram showing what appears to be a hotel room with a couch, a suitcase, and three canvases hanging on the wall. As she deals with the loss of her godson and nephew River, who was just 11 months old, she captioned the image with “the phases of grieving.”
Several famous people commented on Stone’s image to express their ongoing support and sorrow after learning of his passing.

River William Stone was born on September 8, 2020, and passed away on August 30, 2021, according to the text that accompanied the sorrowful video that the Basic Instinct star put online on Monday in memory of River William Stone. The song “Tears in Heaven” was performed by Eric Clapton and used in the video, which also had home footage of River.
The news of his passing comes just a few days after Stone posted a picture of her nephew being intubated and wired up with a number of other tubes and wires around his body on Instagram.
The caption on Friday’s post said, “My nephew and godson River Stone was found in his crib with severe organ failure today.” She went on to explain what had happened. “We ask that you pray for him. We are in dire need of a miracle.”
Stone is a mother to three kids, Quinn, 15, Laird, 16, and Roan, 21 years old respectively. Stone spoke in 2017 on how she became a mother through adoption, saying, “The role of motherhood did not come easily to me, but the angels brought it to me with love. Our household is filled with joy and good fortune. That is the guiding principle behind all we do.”
She went on to remark that at the time, “We have a choice about what we teach our children, and we have to stand tall and say yes to love.”
