Stephen “tWitch” Boss’s wife finally breaks her silence

In memory of her late spouse Stephen “tWitch” Boss, Allison Holker.

The mother of three reflected on the former DJ of the Ellen DeGeneres Show’s impact in a statement released on December 14 revealing his passing.

In a statement to E! News, Holker said, “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to tell my husband Stephen has left us.” “Stephen brought light into every space he entered. Above all else, he treasured his family, friends, and community. He believed that the best way to lead was to lead with love and light. He served as the foundation of our family, was the best husband and father, and served as an example to his followers.”

It would be an understatement to say that he left a legacy, and his beneficial influence will still be felt, she added. “There won’t be a day that goes by that we don’t remember him, I’m positive of that. During this trying moment for myself and especially for our three kids, we kindly request your privacy.”

“Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you,” she closed with a message to her husband.

Fans have enjoyed watching Boss make their TVs happy for years. In 2003, he participated in The Wade Robson Project and Star Search on MTV. In 2008, he finished second on So You Think You Can Dance. Boss made a comeback to the dance competition in 2010 for the All-Star season, when he met fellow dancer Holker. The couple wed in 2013. They had three children together: Weslie, 14; Maddox, 6; and Zaia, 3.

In 2014, Boss started working as a DJ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. In 2020, he was promoted to co-executive producer, and he continued in that role—along with frequently standing in as host—until the talk show’s cancellation in 2022. He participated in Ellen DeGeneres’ game show Ellen’s Game of Games as well.

Viewers have seen Boss in a variety of TV and film roles over the years, including his return to SYTYCD as a judge, cameos in shows like Modern Family and Bones, as well as performances in movies like Magic Mike XXL and the Step Up series.

Boss and Holker frequently shared brief videos of themselves dancing together and posting pictures of their family on social media to give followers a look into their relationship. The pair celebrated nine years of marriage just four days before Boss passed away, and both of them posted tributes on social media at the time.

Our ninth anniversary is today! Dec. 10: Holker posted on Instagram. “I am so thankful to be able to celebrate this wonderful day! One of the best choices I’ve ever made in my life was to say YES to @sir twitch alot! I’m very grateful and loved right now! I cherish you so much, darling, and I’ll never take our relationship for granted. I HEART YOU.”
