People who knew Lisa Marie Presley expressed their love in abundance upon her passing. Nicolas Cage, her ex-husband, paid tribute to her by making the following statement to CNN on behalf of him: “This is terrible news. Lisa laughed the loudest of anyone I’ve ever met. I’m devastated since she made every space more luminous.” Michael Lockwood, her ex-husband, also talked about Presley’s passing and how it affected their twins, Harper and Finley.
“Her children needed her, so Michael hoped for a quick and thorough recovery. It’s too bad things didn’t work out that way “his lawyer informed ET. “Michael’s entire world has been altered. Both of his daughters are currently with him.”
According to TMZ, Presley passed away from a heart arrest on January 12 at the age of 54.
Presley joined in on the Golden Globes festivities for Baz Luhrmann’s “Elvis,” starring Austin Butler, just a few days prior. Butler has released a statement outlining his sorrow and loss in the wake of Presley’s passing.
When Austin Butler learned of Lisa Marie Presley’s passing, he was inconsolable. He said, “My heart is totally destroyed.” He added in a statement to People, “I am eternally grateful for the time I was blessed enough to be beside her bright light and will forever appreciate the calm moments we spent. “Her kindness, love, and genuineness will never be forgotten.”
Butler and Presley became great friends as a result of his role as her father in “Elvis.” As soon as he was done portraying the King, he spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about their deep bond. Speaking on the significance of the role, he said, “I didn’t meet Lisa Marie until after the film, so it hit home when I first saw her.”
She gave me a hug while crying and simply murmured, “Thank you,” he continued. In Graceland, the two also became close. She led me upstairs, where we entered Elvis’ bedroom and sat on his bed, and chatted for hours, the man continued.
Given their close relationship and a shared love of Elvis, as well as the manner he gave Butler’s father lived, it is understandable that Butler feels inconsolable.
