The beloved actor Tom Bower, known for his memorable roles in the classic TV series “The Waltons” and the action-packed film “Die Hard 2,” has sadly left us. Bower passed away at the age of 86.

Tom Bower took his last breath peacefully in his Los Angeles home on May 30. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he passed away in his sleep. His representative, Marsha McManus, confirmed the news through an email to USA Today, expressing, “He was an extraordinary human being.”
Bower’s journey began in Denver, Colorado, where he was born. His passion for acting led him to study at John Cassavetes’ Shadows Workshop, marking the beginning of his illustrious career with the film ‘Shadows’ in 1957.

In the early 1970s, Tom transitioned to television, where he graced our screens with his presence in various beloved series. Audiences cherished his performances in “The Waltons,” “The X-Files,” “Breaking Bad,” “Ray Donovan,” and “Better Call Saul.” His talent in embracing diverse roles made him a favorite among casting directors and audiences alike.
Tom Bower also made his mark in the film industry with supporting roles in notable movies such as “Die Hard 2” (1990), “The Hills Have Eyes” (2006), “Crazy Heart” (2009), and “Out of the Furnace” (2013). His versatility shone through as he expertly took on roles ranging from authority figures to relatable everyman characters.
Besides his impressive career, Bower was a devoted family man. He leaves behind two children and four grandchildren, along with a brother and sister who will cherish his memory. His wife, Ursula, who was his pillar, sadly passed away earlier this year in 2023.
His absence will be deeply felt by family, friends, and fans worldwide.
