TikToker And Marathon Runner Died After Finishing Disneyland Marathon, He Was 33

A marathon runner and TikToker passed away one hour after finishing Disneyโ€™s 2024 Disneyland Halloween Half marathon. He was 33.

Caleb Graves immediately received medical assistance after crossing the finish line at the Disney resort, near Anaheim, California. This happened around 7 a.m. on August 8.

Per Entertainment Weekly, โ€œSgt. Matt Sutter, a public information officer for the Anaheim Police Department, said Anaheim Fire & Rescue teams immediately provided assistance to Graves at the end of the course.โ€

โ€œThe runner crossed the finish line. As soon as he did, one of the workers at the marathon noticed the gentleman was clutching his chest,โ€ Sutter told EW. โ€œThey noticed he was going into cardiac arrest.โ€ They quickly transported Graves to the Anaheim Global Medical Center. Approximately, one hour later, he was pronounced dead.

The race started sometime after 5 a.m. and Graves finished around 7 a.m. so his race time was less than 2 hours during a Southern California record breaking heat wave.

Disneyland Resort spokesperson , Jessica Good said in a statement, โ€œWe are deeply saddened by this tragic loss, and our hearts are with Calebโ€™s family and loved ones during this difficult time.โ€

In a TikTok video posted the day before his death, Graves shared that he had passed out from heat exhaustion while walking his dog. โ€œI really hope I get through the race tomorrow morning,โ€ he said at the end of the clip. The Orange County Sheriff-Coroner Department is still investigating Gravesโ€™ cause of death.

Rest in Peace.
