Todd Chrisley is officially in federal prison after being sentenced to 12 years in a highly-publicized fraud trial just a few months ago. In an attempt to connect with his fans one last time before his check-in time, Chrisley shared a video to his Instagram on Monday night – though the post has since been deleted.
The video featured Karen Peck, a southern gospel artist from Gainesville, GA, singing a song titled ‘Four Days Late’ (2001) – in which the lyrics say: “Lord, we don’t understand why You’ve waited so long, But His way is God’s way, not yours or mine, And isn’t it great, when He’s four days late, He’s still on time.”
In the caption, Todd Chrisley wrote, “HE is always on time,” along with the hashtag #FightTheGoodFight – apparently alluding to the 53-year-old’s intention on appealing the convictions with his wife. The comments section was flooded with love, support, well wishes, and prayers from family and friends.
Todd Chrisley and his wife, Julie Chrisley, were indicted on 12 counts of various bank, tax, and wire fraud charges in August of 2019 for events that occurred between 2008 and 2016. The couple was convicted in June 2022 and received their sentences in November 2022. Now, they’ve spent their first day in prison.
Todd Chrisley was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison – Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in Escambia County, FL – and will undergo 3 years of supervised release upon getting out. He was found guilty of bank fraud, conspiracy to commit bank fraud, tax fraud, and conspiracy to commit tax fraud.
As for his wife, Julie Chrisley was sentenced to 7 years in federal prison – Federal Correctional Institution and Federal Prison Camp Marianna – and will also undergo 3 years of supervised release upon getting out. In addition to the bank and tax fraud charges (listed above), Julie was also found guilty of wire fraud.
Julie and Todd Chrisley recently made one last effort to extend their surrender date and even made a request for bail – both of which were denied by a judge. Instead, their surrender date remained January 17th and they were expected to report to their respective federal prisons by 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
In his since-deleted Instagram post, Todd Chrisley received an overwhelming amount of love and support from various friends and family members. His son, Kyle Chrisley, commented, “I love you daddy this isn’t over,” while his daughter, Savannah Chrisley, commented, “I love you, daddy,” with a big red heart emoji.
In fact, Karen Peck – the gospel singer who was featured in the video – even shared her kind words of support. “We are praying for you, Julie, and your family,” she commented. Todd and Julie Chrisley have been vocal about appealing their conviction, citing an unfair trial ‘marred by serious and repeated errors.’
While Julie Chrisley opted to not share anything to social media ahead of her check-in, their 26-year-old son, Chase Chrisley, took to his Instagram Story to post a cryptic bible quote from Matthew 1:23 that read, “God is with us.” Their entire family has strengthened their bond and dedication to their religion.
With that said, Julie has commented on the possibility of her and Todd separating during a podcast appearance. “But there’s a difference between my husband and I being separated for a period of time and having to say goodbye forever,” she said, adding that she feels ashamed to even have to worry about it.
