The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has not taken kindly to the latest approval ratings, voicing his dissatisfaction with the results quite strongly.
Ten months into his second term at the White House, the popularity ratings show an unflattering image for President Trump.

A fresh approval rating from The Economist paints a stark picture of Trump’s popularity, sparking a spirited response from the president on social media against the pollsters.
This isn’t the first instance where President Trump has lashed out at opinion poll results. Previously, he disputed a survey by Fox News, which disclosed that 52 percent of Americans feel the economy is worse under his administration.
The latest poll figures from The Economist echo similar sentiments.

Their findings show Trump with a net approval rating of -17 percent, marking a slight decrease of 0.5 points from last week, largely due to the ongoing government shutdown.
Interestingly, a mere 5% of those surveyed stated they were ‘not sure’ about Trump’s performance, making it the smallest group surveyed.
Those giving Trump a thumbs-up currently constitute 39% of respondents, expressing a positive view of the president.
The largest group in The Economist’s poll is those who disapprove of Trump’s leadership, at a considerable 56%—a statistic that appears to be on an upward trajectory.
Notably, The Economist mentioned that the -17 percent approval rating mirrors the sentiment from a similar point in Trump’s first presidency when it was at -15 percent.
In comparison, Nate Silver’s Silver Bulletin poll, which aggregates Trump’s approval across various sources, showed a net approval of -9.5 as of October 27.
Unsurprisingly, these numbers did not sit well with Trump.

On Truth Social, the social media platform Trump owns, he posted, “After winning THREE Elections, BY A LOT, I am now getting the best Polling Numbers that I have ever received.”
It’s worth pointing out that Trump has been victorious in two presidential elections—initially in 2016 and then in 2024, despite ongoing assertions from his supporters that he also won in 2020.
Trump elaborated: “People see how strong the Economy is, the Trillions of Dollars of Investment pouring into our Country, the Record Setting Strong Border (After years of millions of criminals pouring through it, totally unvetted and unchecked!), ending 8 wars in eight months, no men playing in women’s sports, no transgender for everyone, rapidly falling Energy prices, and much more!”
He persisted, without detailing the polls in question: “Despite all of this, the Radical Left Losers are taking fake ads, not showing REAL Polls, but rather saying that I’m Polling at low levels.
“These are the people that I’ve been beating for years, and am continuing to do so, but by even bigger margins. These ads should not be allowed to run because they are FAKE!”
