Trump’s Witty Retort to Melania’s Admirers

Donald Trump and Melania met back in 1998 and have become a globally recognized couple ever since.

There are some who feel that Donald Trump might not be the ideal match for his wife, Melaniaโ€”but now Trump has responded to those remarks.

Shining in the Public Eye

President Donald Trump is known to relish the limelight, and he’s recently conveyed a clear message to those who seem to favor his wife, Melania, over him.

The moment took place during a White House gathering on November 13 when the president was set to sign an executive order concerning foster care. The event kicked off with First Lady Melania speaking passionately about her dedication to supporting children transitioning from the foster care system.

The new “Fostering the Future” initiative seeks to establish an online platform offering educational and job resources for foster youth, while also providing vouchers and grants to aid them in adulthood.

Melania emphasized the plan’s significance: “This executive order, Fostering the Future for American children and families, gives me tremendous pride. It is both empathetic and strategic. It will certainly be impactful. It aims to establish a comprehensive network connecting federal departments and agencies, private sector businesses, higher learning institutions, and charitable organizations.โ€

Trump’s Sharp Remark

When it was his turn, Trump commended his wife’s talents, particularly her ability to speak multiple languages fluently.

“I think thatโ€™s pretty amazing. I canโ€™t โ€“ I couldnโ€™t do it. I couldnโ€™t do it,” he said, referring to her proficiency in at least five languages.

The president also joked about how Melania often garners more approval during public speeches: “Our country is truly blessed to have this magnificent and very caring First Lady. They love her. Every time I get up and make a speech, they say we want our First Lady. I say what the hell, Iโ€™m not good enough?”

Following his address, Trump signed the executive order and extended an invitation for Melania to sign as well, a rare gesture for a First Lady.

Moreover, Trump expressed his delight at endorsing the program and praised Second Lady Usha Vance for her support of Melania’s initiatives.

“Weโ€™re going to have absolutely incredible results,” said Trump, highlighting the $25 million budget allocation she’d advocated for, which will go towards assisting foster children with housing and other vital supports as they transition out of the system.

A Stark Truth

According to the U.S. Department of Education, there are roughly 400,000 children and young adults in foster care at any moment, with about 20,000 aging out annually.

Sadly, only about half of foster kids graduate high school, a mere three percent pursue a college degree, and one in five face homelessness once they exit the system. Furthermore, just half will find stable employment by age 24.
