Updated Information Regarding Lisa Marie Presley’s Actual Cause of Death

Almost a week after her unexpected death, Lisa Marie Presley’s cause of death is still unknown. The singer-songwriter had an autopsy after passing away last Thursday from a heart arrest. Before rendering a decision, the Los Angeles County Coroner, however, ordered more tests.

“After being checked on January 14, Presley’s cause of death was not determined. Deferred indicates that the medical examiner is asking extra research, including additional studies, because the cause of death has not been identified following an autopsy. The doctor reassesses the case and determines the cause of death once the results of the tests or studies are in “Sarah Ardalani, a spokesperson, tells Yahoo Entertainment.

The only child of Elvis Presley, Lisa Marie, was pronounced dead on January 12 at 5:08 p.m. PT at West Hills Hospital. She had two weeks until she turned 55.

Ardalani tells Yahoo that there is “an ongoing death investigation,” thus she won’t comment on the precise tests being performed.

A representative for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed to Yahoo Entertainment that there is no active police investigation and that “the coroner’s office is handling this issue.”

There are other reasons for the deferment, according to CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta, who said that a person’s medical history may be checked.

According to the initial autopsy, the body had suffered injuries, a stroke, serious infections, blood clots, and pulmonary embolism. “They might provide a cause of death if you notice those during the initial physical autopsy and they are visible. However, certain items are postponed.”

Graceland, the renowned home of Elvis Presley in Memphis, Tennessee, is currently preparing for Lisa Marie’s funeral. On Sunday, a memorial service is planned to be held on the front lawn. In the same grave as her adored son Benjamin Keough, who committed suicide in 2020, will rest Lisa Marie. According to TMZ, her burial site, which would be across from her well-known father, was being dug up earlier on Wednesday. In 1977, a heart attack claimed Elvis’ life at Graceland.

Just two days after her prominent appearance at the Golden Globe Awards, Lisa Marie suffered a heart attack at her home in the Calabasas-Agoura Hills region. The singer was found to be unresponsive, and the housekeeper frantically dialed 911. The call’s audio was obtained by the New York Post, and it finishes with a man, who is thought to be Lisa Marie’s ex-husband Danny Keough, seizing the reins and conversing with the operator.

According to TMZ’s claim from last week, Danny gave Lisa Marie CPR up until the paramedics came. Before being sent to the hospital and put on life support, she reportedly regained a pulse at the scene. Danny and Lisa Marie, who split up in 1994, had a tight relationship. Riley Keough, an actress, was their 33-year-old daughter, in addition to Ben. Harper and Finley, twins who are 14 years old, were the next two children Lisa Marie had with her fourth husband, Michael Lockwood. In the event of their mother’s untimely passing, all three children will receive Graceland.
