Erika Kirk’s message centered around forgiveness and love, as she quoted, “The answer to hate is not hate. The answer we know from the gospel is love and always love, love for our enemies and love for those who persecute us.” Her words stood in stark contrast to Trump’s remarks.
When Trump addressed the gathering, he respectfully acknowledged Erika, apologizing for straying from Charlie’s philosophy.
“He did not hate his opponents. He wanted the best for them. That’s where I disagreed with Charlie. I hate my opponents, and I don’t want the best for them. I’m sorry,” Trump remarked. “I am sorry, Erika.”
He went on to say, “Charlie’s angry… he’s angry at me.”
Amidst the memorial events, Trump was seated in the VIP area, which came as no surprise to attendees. However, his company was unexpected when Elon Musk showed up and joined him.
Elon Musk had played a key role in helping Trump make his return to the White House earlier in the year. Post that, Musk was appointed to lead efforts directed at trimming government expenses and positions.
Despite their past cooperation, Musk and Trump faced public disagreements, leading to Musk stepping away from the political scene. However, this recent meeting suggests they are open to mending their relationship.
