Riley Keough takes a radical decision after the tragedy of her mother Lisa Marie

Lisa Marie Presley’s family and the rest of the world have been in grief ever since her untimely demise. However, tragedy does not come without drama, just like in any family.

You may be aware that Priscilla Presley challenged her daughter Riley Keough’s last will and testament after learning that the late singer had amended her will in 2016—apparently without the 77-year-knowledge—transferring old her estate rights to Riley Keough. The late actress’s mother apparently didn’t like the change since it replaced Priscilla and the performer’s former business manager as co-trustees of her estate with Riley and Lisa Marie’s late son Benjamin Keough.

As things stand, the Daisy Jones & The Six actress will take over her mother’s trust-administered estate, which will include the roughly $31 million in life insurance proceeds that Lisa Marie left behind. But what is her true reaction to her grandmother’s attempt to challenge the will? Evidently not happy, which is how Priscilla evidently feels about the amendment in the first place.

Riley is “disappointed” in the ex-wife of Elvis Presley, a source close to Entertainment Tonight claims, and feels that she is going against “her mom’s wishes” by disputing the will. From the source:

Riley believes that her grandmother’s behavior is further tearing the family apart even though she wants to keep the family together and preserve Lisa Marie’s legacy. She finds it sad since she wants to be friends with Priscilla, but they are not currently close.

Further, dividing the family? Yeesh. Contrary to what Priscilla asserted in a statement to PageSix on Thursday, that is exactly the reverse. She claimed to be doing everything in her power to keep her family together.

But the insider didn’t end there. According to Lisa Marie, her mother and her didn’t even get along, and their relationship was “complicated”:

“[Lisa Marie] did not have a strong or intimate bond with Priscilla… The relationship between Lisa Marie and her mother was undoubtedly strained as a result of Lisa Marie’s struggles. Priscilla often gave Lisa Marie the impression that she was attempting to control her.

The singer of Lights Out believed that her mother was constantly attempting to exert control over her, and it appears that she is still doing so. It seems possible that their tense relationship is where the 2016 amendment originally originated.

Lisa Marie “always intended for her children to receive her trust,” the insider continued.

It was no secret that Lisa always intended Riley and Benjamin to be the trust’s beneficiaries. She would sacrifice anything for her children since they meant the world to her.

Such a tough situation, with a lot to think about from all angles. Losing someone is never simple, and having to deal with family disputes doesn’t make things any simpler. Our thoughts are still with the family.
