School Janitor Sets Up ‘Care’ Initiative To Help Students In Need After Encounter With Two Homeless Teens

Steven Tyler is one of the biggest rock stars on the planet. With his iconic raspy voice and charismatic stage presence, he alone can fill arena after arena. With his band, Aerosmith, Steven’s impact on their millions of fans worldwide transcends generations.

Steven Victor Tallarico, better known as Steven Tyler, was born on March 26, 1948, in Manhattan, New York. Steven eventually moved to Boston later on when he formed Aerosmith with his bandmate Joe Perry.

After a string of hits in the ’70s and ’80s like “Walk This Way” and “Dream On,” they kept the momentum of their skyrocketing career in the ’90s with “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing,” from the “Armageddon” soundtrack, and “Crazy.”

The band has established a huge following around the globe, sealing themselves as the best-selling American hard rock band of all time.

Steven even went on to stand out on his own as he later became a judge on “American Idol” for two years and has starred on various television shows throughout the years like “The Simpsons,” “Hell’s Kitchen” and “Nashville,” among others.

Throughout his career, he is most notable for being called the “Demon of Screamin’” because of his high screams and his powerfully wide vocal range.

However, his vocals and unique way of singing might also be the reason why his health was put at risk recently after he and his Aerosmith bandmates were forced to postpone a few dates on their scheduled “Peace Out Tour” across North America after he was ordered by doctors to take a break.

Read on to find out more about Steven’s life and the devastating health condition keeping him from performing for his fans.

When it comes to rock royalty, few people can compare to Steven Tyler. He is best known as the lead singer of the band Aerosmith and is known for his amazing skills as a musician. His huge vocal range allowed him to belt and scream high notes while mesmerizing countless audiences along the way.

While fans of the rock legend probably think the experience of meeting Steven would be life-changing, that’s exactly what it was like for his biological daughter Liv Tyler. Liv is best known as an actress and some of her most popular films include the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, “The Incredible Hulk,” and “The Strangers.”

Although Liv is the daughter of Steven, she didn’t know it for many years of her childhood. Her mother is Bebe Buell, a singer and model who has dated the likes of many musicians, including Mick Jagger, Elvis Costello and, of course, Steven. She had an on-again, off-again relationship with musician and producer Todd Rundgren for most of the 1970s, during which Buell gave birth to Liv.

During one of her off periods from Rundgren, Buell became pregnant, as she had a very brief relationship with Steven. Neither Liv nor the general public knew who Liv’s true father was for many years since Liv grew up believing that Rundgren was her real father until she met the Aerosmith frontman.

She began harboring doubts about Rundgren being her biological father as she ruminated over an Aerosmith poster she had pinned to her wall. Finally, in 1997, she chanced upon the revelation that would convince her mother to tell her the truth.

“My mom has a diary entry or something where I wrote, ‘I think Steven is my father,” Liv recalled, leading to her true father’s identity being revealed.

As she grew up, Liv naturally believed Rundgren was her father as he had been the one to sign her birth certificate, according to Biography. Even though the Utopia singer knew there was a chance that Liv wasn’t his daughter as Buell had had a fling with Steven, he still gave Liv his last name and stepped up to raise her like his own. He eventually legally adopted her as his child.

To this day, Liv still has a wonderful relationship with Rundgren. Speaking with The Guardian, Liv said:

“I’m so grateful to Todd for choosing to be a father figure to me. It’s a big thing for a man to say, ‘I know this kid might not be mine, but I still want to be her father.’ Although he and my mom weren’t together, he was always a very stable, loving force in my life.”

Buell was only 23 years old when she gave birth to Liv on July 1, 1977. According to Biography, Buell kept Liv’s true paternity a secret because Steven was reportedly dealing with substance abuse issues at the time. Buell said that she and Rundgren “made a pact that he would be Liv’s father and if it ever became an issue, we’d tell her at 18.”

However, Liv discovered the truth much earlier than that. During an interview with Jonathan Ross in 2015, Liv talked about the moment when she realized that Steven was her biological father. “Well I was 8 when I found out that he was my dad,” she said. “I have two fathers, kind of.”

Liv continued:

“It’s quite an emotional story, honestly, the whole thing because it was, you know, my mother was very young when she had me and there was a little bit of confusion about where I came from. But I was very loved and very well taken care of by all my family, which was wonderful.”

Learning that Steven was her father was a life-changing moment for Liv. “It was a moment that was bigger than me, it was almost spiritual,” she explained. “When you meet kin, there is an energy and sparkle between your bodies. It must be chemical somehow – DNA and genes.” She continued, “I felt a connection in a very strong way when I met him as a little girl and I didn’t know why at first, but I figured it out rather quickly.”

One of the main reasons that made Liv think Steven was her father was how similar they looked. “Steven and I look so alike and we do things in the same way,” Liv said. It wasn’t just her resemblance to the Aerosmith singer that gave Liv a clue into her relationship with him, but also her resemblance to his daughter Mia. “My sister Mia will just move her hand in a certain way and the mannerism is so like mine, it’s crazy,” she said.

Liv is now a parent herself and has three children. She welcomed her first son Milo in December 2004 with then-husband Royston Langdon – an English musician. She later went on to have a son named Sailor and a daughter named Lula with British sports and entertainment manager David Gardner.

Besides Liv, Steven also has three other children born after her. Steven had another daughter, Mia Tyler, in 1978 with ex-wife Cyrinda Foxe.

Starting her career as a model, Mia later launched a clothing line and also began acting. She had a penchant for relationships with musicians and dated Papa Roach drummer Dave Buckner and Yeti guitarist Brian Harrah. She gave birth to her first child named Axton Joseph Halen with her boyfriend Dan Halen in 2017.

Steven welcomed another daughter, Chelsea Anna Tyler, in 1987. He shares Chelsea with his ex-wife Teresa Barrick. The model and musician welcomed her first child, Vincent Frank Foster, in 2020, with her partner and fellow Kaneholler bandmate, Jon Foster.

Steven and Barrick also had a son named Taj Monroe Tallarico in 1991, although he has largely remained out of the public eye.

Steven has grown into quite the family man as the years have gone by. In 2018, he told People while his children are grown and busy with their own lives, he liked to find the opportunity and time to get everyone together. He said:

“It’s just a little hard… We try to get together for Christmas and it’s fun, it’s beautiful. What we got is beautiful.”

All of Steven’s daughters paid tribute to their dad on his 70th birthday in 2018, with Mia calling him her “favorite man to laugh with.” Liv called Steven her “darling daddy” and said she was “So proud to walk this earth with you” and “be born a part of your wolf pack,” in a touching post alongside a Rolling Stone magazine cover featuring them both.

In line with Liv’s wolf pack reference, it appears the rockstar has bequeathed related terms of endearment on his daughters, calling Liv his “ALPHA PUP,” Mia “THE WILDEST WOLF” and Chelsea his “BADDEST BABY GIRL PUP,” and

He also shared a photo with all his children, referring to them as his “WOLFPACK.”

In May 2023, fans were ecstatic as Aerosmith announced their “Peace Out Tour” as they were set to travel to different cities across North America with special guests The Black Crowes and perform the major hits that fans knew and loved through the decades. This tour is significant not just for the band, but also for their supporters as this would be their farewell tour.

The band went on to begin their tour journey in early September when they performed at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Attendees had fun as some of them were finally able to see members Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, and Brad Whitford, together on one stage.

However, their journey was cut short after the group took to their official Instagram account to reveal devastating news to their followers. In a statement written by Tyler, he revealed that he received strict orders from his doctors not to sing for 30 days due to vocal cord damage.

“I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days. I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding,” he wrote.

The rocker added that Aerosmith had to postpone a few of their dates so that they could come back and give fans the performance they deserve.

Fortunately, they immediately rescheduled the dates, which would run from January to February 2024. Some of the affected cities were Detroit, Toronto, Raleigh, Chicago, Cleveland and Washington, D.C.

Fans are lucky as their tickets will still be valid for the rescheduled dates, but for those who have different plans, the group assured them that their tickets would be refunded through their point of purchase.

After the band shared their announcement, fans immediately took to the comment section to express their concern about Aerosmith’s frontman.

“This isn’t a good sign. I hope he recovers well,” one wrote.

“This is no surprise for his age. He’s one of the greatest front man to ever Grace music… And one of the most unbelievable, and most powerful, and most recognizable voices in history. At his age singing this material is pure hell,” one commented.

“Bleeding?! Scary stuff. 30 days for recovery sounds like nowhere near enough time. Especially at his age,” another one wrote.

“Your health is more important than your career heal well king,” one expressed.

“Oh please get well! soon rest that beautiful one of a kind voice for all of the world,” one wished.

There were also users who were able to attend the first show, and they told other fans that the rescheduled dates would be worth the wait.

“I was at the concert on Saturday and it was amazing, it will be worth the wait. (I promise),” they wrote.

This was not the first time Tyler had health problems while he had a string of scheduled concerts lined up. According to an article published by Fox News in December 2022, the band had to cancel the final two shows of their Las Vegas residency.

Although the exact health condition was not revealed, the group wrote in a statement at the time: “On the advice of doctors, Steven has to sit these out. Stay healthy and we’ll see you in the new year!”

Months later, Blabbermouth reported in May 2023 that Perry assured Tyler’s fans that he was doing well and that he recovered: “He’s doing a hundred percent better.”
