Welcome to the latest update on Todd and Julie Chrisley! You may know them from the popular reality show “Chrisley Knows Best.” Unfortunately, in 2022, Todd and Julie faced some legal troubles. They were convicted of bank fraud and tax evasion. Although they continue to maintain their innocence, they were given a combined prison sentence of 19 years.
In January 2023, Todd and Julie turned themselves in. Presently, Todd is serving a 12-year sentence in a prison in Pensacola, Florida, while Julie is in a prison hundreds of miles away in Lexington, Kentucky for 7 years.
The Voice of Savannah Chrisley
Savannah Chrisley, the couple’s oldest daughter, has been using her platform to shed light on her parents’ experience in prison. Through her podcast, “Unlocked w/ Savannah Chrisley,” she aims to advocate for her parents and draw attention to the conditions they are facing behind bars.
Savannah recently featured her brother Chase Chrisley on the podcast, where they revealed some distressing information about the living conditions in their parents’ prisons. It is important to note that both prisons lack air conditioning, causing discomfort in hot states. Moreover, Julie’s prison is infested with poisonous snakes. Mold, asbestos, and lead-based paint also pose serious health concerns in both facilities.
Concerns Uncovered
Savannah acknowledges that prison isn’t meant to be luxurious or comparable to a fancy hotel like “the Four Seasons.” However, the state of these prisons raises concerns. She believes that the prisons are not only failing to provide basic necessities, but they are also concealing the true conditions from health inspectors.
