Actress Best Known For Her Role As Wednesday Addams, Deat At 64

Lisa Loring, the actress renowned for portraying the character Wednesday Addams in the 1960s sitcom “The Addams Family”, has passed away at the age of 64. Her friend Laurie Jacobson announced Loring’s death through a Facebook post, revealing that she suffered a massive stroke, which was attributed to her smoking habit and high blood pressure.

Lisa Loring was put on life support for three days, and her family ultimately made the difficult decision to take her off it, after which she passed away.

Jacobson’s post on Facebook read, “It is with great sadness that I report the death of our friend, Lisa Loring. 4 Days ago she suffered a massive stroke brought on by smoking and high blood pressure. She had been on life support for 3 days. Yesterday, her family made the difficult decision to remove it and she passed last night.” She fondly remembered Loring as a “beautiful, kind, a loving mother” who possessed “a wealth of humor, affection and love.”

Chris Carbaugh, who was Loring’s agent, also confirmed her death and issued a statement to CBS. He emphasized Loring’s loving nature as a mother, grandmother, and friend, and praised her for the rich tapestry of stories and experiences she accumulated throughout her life. Carbaugh highlighted her role as Wednesday Addams, describing it as one of Hollywood’s most iconic characters that continues to be celebrated today. He mentioned that Loring cherished sharing her memories and had a deep affection for meeting her fans globally. In his statement, Carbaugh expressed that Loring will be profoundly missed.

Loring’s daughter, Vanessa Foumberg, spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about her mother’s passing. She confirmed that her mother died in a hospital located in Burbank, California, and stated that the cause of death was complications resulting from a stroke, which was caused by high blood pressure. Foumberg shared with Variety that her mother passed away peacefully, with both of her daughters holding her hands.

Lisa Loring was catapulted to stardom at the tender age of six when she was cast as Wednesday Addams. She continued to have an acting career spanning several years, with her last credited role in 2015.
